We own a Motorhome in Canada but are renting a Campervan in the UK next month so this was great to show us how bookings will work.

As we are about to buy our first motorhome having hired a few in the past I thought it wise to look for useful blogs and this is one of the best, Your story is fascinating and your tips are very useful 👍 Thank you

As usual well worth following your advice about anything MH travelling! Just from my point of view SFS is not just UK and use it especially in France and Spain find it essential for overnights.
@WanderingBird2 жыл бұрын
It absolutely does both. However, in my experience, there are many more Europeans who add places onto P4N, so often that's a little more comprehensive for Europe, whereas SFS is much better for the UK, but they both cover both. :)

@@WanderingBirdHi Kat - I do use P4N as well and others but with SFS I love the combo of app and or website (paid and login) and the facebook forum (which can be a bit critical unlike the fantastic WB posters) so many times in Europe it covers those and people give info back about places there as well as really good reviews. Just today got fantastic link for Croatia for a future trip! I’m not knocking what you’ve said at all I was trying in a contribute from my own experience. Thanks for everything you do, it’s amazing information. 👍🏼🙌🏼❤️

Hi there Kat, just wanted to add we are in Lake District ,were campsites are high £30s going on over £40.00 a night. we came to Aira force waterfalls car park owned by National Trust, but regardless if your a member or not they are letting campers stay overnight for £10.00 including 24hr toilets and drinking water. Also same at great langdale, not saying they are going to do this every NT site, but what a great idea, to many large carparks are left empty forcing people to park at more inappropriate places. Also never bothered with paying for Brit Stops as i have never been turned down to stop over if ask first and buy drink/meal.
@WanderingBird2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Let's hope more and more places do this. Aira Force was lovely.

Thanks. If you're in the WB Facebook Group that's a great place to share places. :)

I love your videos, they are so informative. We are just going through the process of deciding whether to buy a motorhome in the next year or two and gathering as much information as we can. We are off the NEC in a few weeks to have a look at all the motorhomes and hopefully get to speak to some experts. Are you going to be there by any chance? xx

Awww- thank you. And absolutely! I'm speaking on the main stage every day, so do come and say hi :)

Hi Cat, bumped in to you at Van Life in August. Just returned from Scotland NC500. We found search for sites amazing. Do you review the places you stay at? We have tried to review each stop over, an honest review and photos makes it so much easier to make a decision when using these Apps/Sites. Enjoy your adventures x

Awesome. Did you have a good trip? And yes- I try to review each stopover when I get a moment. :)
@andylawn95212 жыл бұрын
Very usefull to see your process, thanks. Do they specify the size of van they mean rather than small, med, large(or hyoooge)?
@WanderingBird2 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful. Regarding size, where do you mean sorry?
@rogerramjet1110 ай бұрын
Is there an acceptable minimum spacing between vans? Only stayed on club sites so far.

Great tutorial! We have recently returned from a trip from Devon to Falkirk and used searchforsites for all of our stopovers. We find the reviews really helpful and having recent reviews is really reassuring. So we make sure we do our bit and have just added 9 reviews of the stopovers we used on our Falkirk trip to the app. PS Although the app is supposed to work offline, you usually need to access other websites when planning the following day(s). We did get caught it on at least 3 nights when the 4G was almost non-existent so maybe do your planning at a stop during the day where you have a signal or wifi (parking at the back of a McDonalds works for me!).
@WanderingBird2 жыл бұрын
McDonalds is good for so many things :) But yes- wifi is definitely easier and well done for adding your reviews. :)
