How We Hiked Mt. Bromo Without a Guide! | Indonesia

We are headed to Mt. Bromo, one of the most famous volcanoes in Indonesia. While most people take a tour to visit Mt. Bromo, we had read that you can actually explore Mt. Bromo without a guide. Our plan was to take the public bus to the town of Probolinggo where we would then look around to find a public minivan up to Cemorolawang, a hamlet located basically right next to Bromo. From there, we could basically walk to all the major attractions including the Sea of Sands and the main viewpoint of Bromo. But not everything went according to plan…

Ah that Probolinggo odyssey I know. It's better to share a privat van or car or get a go jek for 300k. It's worth it. Communication at the bus terminal in Probolinggo is horrible 😅

You do not need a license to motorbike in Indonesia… but maybe it’s not the wisest choice as other Indonesians have commented that motorbiking around the island is quite difficult 😂
