Your channel brings me comfort and peace. I was care giver to my husband for many years and sadly he has passed. I had hard time accepting that he was gone. Watching your videos brought me joy to know how hard it can be but I know now I was not alone. Your channel brings hope to those who are caregivers that you’re not alone if you just share your burden with others. In America you don’t have the support your getting in Japan❤ I had to pay for things like help with home care, nothing much is supplied you have to pay fees for almost everything you need help with. Happy that Japan helps with much needed elder and disability care. Thanks for sharing

Hi Grace! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family! Thanks for that beautiful scenery! Autumn leaves are just gorgeous. It seems like you weathered the storm and your husband is getting much better. Remember that we all have a purpose in life. We all have a journey in this thing called life. There’s a reason you’re taking care of your husband and not someone else. They have their own journey, their own lessons to learn, their own growth. Our lives are interconnected whether we realized it or not. Just like me coming across your channel if only to add words of encouragement. You’re doing well Grace. Stay safe!

Merry Christmas Grace and to your family too. The autumn colours are beautiful and nature is indeed entertaining. I love walking in lush areas too. Your home is cosy and warm. It's wonderful to see you actively keeping the area alive and well used. Although I understand your use of the additional subtitles, can it be with a transparent background? Cos I like to see continuity in the video and seeing you make food it's like peekaboo, covered and uncovered cooking It's still great editing though. Take care.
@livingwithgraceinjapan3 күн бұрын
Yeah! I understand what you mean about subtitles. Honestly, that is what I want, too. But for the past months, there are requests from viewers to make it visible because they want to read the narratives. For me personally, I want to emphasize the films itself and sometimes doesn't prefer putting subtitles. Anyway, it is me who should improve my videos. Let's see the next videos. Thanks for the advise. See you on the next video!

Hello Grace, once again , a very touching video, we learn so much from your video’s. I wish you a very Happy Christmas holiday, also all you wish for in 2025. I think I visited the area where you are now living, I went many times to ‘ Motegi Resort ‘ to visit the ‘ Honda Collection Hall ‘. motorcycle museum. It’s quite close to ‘ Utsomumya ‘ ( it’s not quite the correct ‘ spelling. I remember we traveled through Nigano & Miyagi . Do you get snow during the Winter? Here in the South of the UK , the last few weeks it’s been cloudy & mild , yesterday +15c. It would be nice to see the Sun again but then it would be cold at night. Don’t work too hard if you can’t. Kind regards. Ian.

@livingwithgraceinjapan Drear Grace , I totally agree, i have absolutely no outside help with my wife ' Seiko ' . Today I was able to have a day off. To visit my daughter, grandchildren & two great grandchildren. Tomorrow we have to be at the ' eye clinic ' with my wife by 10-30am , so early start in the morning. So a short nights sleep tonight. I'll write to you later this week, to give you an idea of our monthly costs. Goodnight & kind regards. Ian.

Do the Japanese have like a 401 K plan or company sponsored retirement plans? Do they have a medicare type plan for old folks?
@livingwithgraceinjapanКүн бұрын
Yes, there is an equivalent in Japan called *Kosei-Nenkin or Employees Pension Insurance* which covers private/company and public sector/ government employees. Contributions are paid by both employees and employers. (half-half). In my case, I am a freelance worker, I pay my contribution called *National Pension or Kokumin.* Regarding the equivalent of medicare, all Japanese nationals as well as foreigners (residing in Japan long term and permanently) are required to register as "resident" to their respective local government offices ( cityoffice/ town office) where they will be given a health care card. This card will be used by that person with his/her medical process. Of course, each should pay a payable amount monthly.
