Bought the Eiger Free Pro in late November. I used it 14 days total (half of it was touring so it spent most of the day unused in the backpack...) and the orange zipper tag already broke. I didn't get any happier when the Mammut Store didn't even have any replacements at hand. (at least for this model.) Pretty audacious to charge a fortune for the jacket and then skimp on the quality... The way the tag was designed makes it bound to break anyway, but a mere two weeks of use and you talk about durable for years and what not? come on. Sorry for the rant, but I thought maybe some people would like to know. Otherwise it's a pretty good jacket, tbf. However, at this price it is also expected to be. (shoutout to the store employee tho, cool dude, apologized and took my address, so the replacement is sent home to me.)

Great Shells i am using mostly for Ski Mountaineering and Ice Climbing. Mammut! Please work on your Zipper Quality. I broke the zipper of the Nordwand Pro Pants Pockets after just 10 days, the second followed after some weeks. Same with the Nordwand Pro Jacket . The main Zipper catches an Edge on 2 Spots which is not only annoying but is destroying the Material over Time.

Is the biggest difference between the pro vs advanced a thicker shell and the extra front pockets? Anything else?

Lot of company's have poor zipper support. It's like after thought. Only one zipper that should be used - YKK
