Many years ago, as in 1993, I sat on the floor with my then two year old while she watched her favorite Pinocchio movie. I decided to draw my vision of a home that I wanted to own and love. We had just purchased our Ca. home while I was pregnant with my daughter. So to paper I put my vision along with a few trees and tucked it away and didn't give it much thought. Six months later, to my surprise, our home was for sale and we relocated halfway across the country. Four years later, I found our current home, raised my family and then empty nest. So we then remodeled, updated and landscaped- still working on that. A few years ago, I unpacked my drawing! And to my amazement, we even have our large tree in the front yard and the two in the back. The vision was in my mind all those very busy years..... Your home is so beautiful and I am so thrilled for the two of you. Sorry for the lengthy comment but I just wanted to share my story with you, two lovely people.

Manifesting is such a privileged thing to say. So many people are in a state of illness, poverty, and despair. No amount of manifesting will help. You worked for this home. You should love it and it's wonderful that you share it with us. But please, please be mindful of luck in how things turn out for some people. For many, many people. And a positive mindset is sooo important but that's different than the belief in manifesting.

I learned in an Ikebana workshop that if you cut the stems of most flowers diagonally under water (sink, running tap), the freshly cut open capillaries fill with water first instead of air. Air bubbles trapped in the capillaries can block the water in the vase from rising up the stem and thus inhibit overall water supply. This trick has really worked for me :) Apart from that: thanks for another wonderful, inspiring vlog Josie, you guys are such a joy to watch ❤️ So happy for you that your visualisations worked out perfectly for you!

You have your home due to work, perseverance and money! I really enjoy your videos however, I don’t think I have heard you thank your subscribers for their support on helping you make your goals (I do usually snack while I watch your videos so I could have missed it). Your subscribers have really helped you get your home and other purchases! Anyone who has ever clicked on one of your links or commercials, made a purchase or watched your videos, you received some sort of commission or freebie ;) I know many people say it’s a small commission however, even if 1% of your subscribers buy something that “little” commission adds up. I appreciate the work you put into making the video’s.

Manifest is a "new age" word for setting goals, making a plan, working smart, and taking incremental/massive action. Not a fan of the word "manifesting" because it suggests that we get what we want through some sort of hocus pocus "luck." Lol When you're clear about what you want, and go after it, the world steps aside. Simple.

A oh my gosh Josie, reading these comments today breaks my heart. A lot of people seem to have strong views about manifesting, we are all entitled to our own views and opinions absolutely. I think we all need to remember that we are all one and are created from one. That in life to truly be successful we need to love one another. That if you are here to watch a person like Josie then watch her because you love what she does and all she has worked towards. Yes she has a stunning home, yes she has beautiful possessions, but never ever has she outwardly gloated about this. She is here sharing her life as that's what she does, share her life, she has worked hard for what she has and as self employed person , work doesn't fall at your lap, income doesn't fall at your lap you have to work for that. Yes the world is in turmoil and you as a viewer can choose if this is the type of content you wish to consume, if it doesn't bring joy and makes you feel annoyed or anger then find something that does bring joy. We all digest and cope with life in different ways and some people do want to watch a beautiful successful women and all her beautiful things. For me when I was going through a absolutely heart wrenching time in my life it was when I found this channel and it was what allowed me in my darkest time to have something beautiful. As far as manifesting, life does happen and for us it occurs in many different ways and as someone who hasn't walked always a easy road, I can say even those terrible moments in life I can be thankful and grateful for as it's taught me so much about myself, my strength, it's taught me so much about others and that anything is actually possible when you do believe and let go off the thoughts that make you doubt what is possible, please remember we are all real people and all deserve to be treated with love even if we have different ideas about life. Josie I think your just beautiful and so very inspiring! 💕

Hi Josie I haven’t commented before but at this time I would like too. I had cancer five years ago and was told it had to be treated aggressively. Well the treatment worked. However I did loose all my hair; and also had to have surgery that lasted for nine hours. I chose to be positive and I visualised being here at the end of the ordeal. I love watching your videos when I can. I do not think we need to be negative to anybody. I choose to try and stay positive. Our own health benefits by it. 🌈🙏

Love this...law of attraction sometimes does not give you the exact thing you want but it goes round the turns and hills to give you your IDEAL home at that point of time. There is always a reason for that and usually good reason x

Law of atrraction some people if this world seem to be practicising is dangerous and rooted in evil people really need to stop jumping on bandwagons they know nothing about. Study the root of everything! Not everything that seems good is. There is always a consequence for everything said and done regardless of whether out of ignorance or intentional.

The thing with manifestation is the positive people tend to manifest positivity. So i am not surprised things tend to go your way. If you are negative that is what will follow you. I appreciate you Josie, keep being positive and a source of inspiration for your followers

Ideas of positivity is very different to those who are easily blinded and distracted to those who can see through and recognise where it's coming from (ie good/evil). Many things rooted in evil are disguised as pretty and positive. The things of this world are temporary and of no value whatsoever yet they are idolised - very dangerous indeed.

This is where the secret and manifesting is incredibly flawed. I live in a house in the country, it's slightly bigger than Josies and I moved in to it when I was younger than Josie. I have no mortgage and never have. The issue here is my husband's uncle had to die young for me to have the privilege of living in this wonderful house. The same thing with Josie she only has the privilege of living in that wonderful house because the previous owners wife died. It has nothing to do with manifesting it is opportunity through tragedy. I loved watching Josie. I watched with joy and nostalgia as she made all the same mistakes I did but when she started quoting the secret I lost respect. She should use her privilege to help others isn't that a big part of the secret to give back.

I think the Secret is one of the most dangerous, insulting ideas i have ever heard. You are privileged Josie. You have worked hard but you were given a serious step up in life. I lost my mum when i was 10. Was that because i didn't wish for a happy family life? With everything going on at the moment it would do us all good to recognise our privilege and how that has helped us get on in the world. Not because of some secret.
@JosieIrons

Fran h I’m so sorry to hear that, I also lost a parent aged 13. I know that I am privileged, but I also think it’s a good idea to use positive thoughts and practise manifesting ; it has good principles such as gratitude and sending positivity out to the world... x

@@JosieIrons that's good to hear. I think I struggle with watching your videos about the secret sometimes because of this issue. I was happy to see you post about black lives matter. It gives me hope and inspiration to see what you are doing with your property and that you are goal driven. We can all benefit from your positivity. No offense, but I get upset when you mention The Secret, because while it's nice to think about it when you're experiencing the highs in your life, it's incredibly heartbreaking to think that everything happens for a reason when you experience the lows. Good on you for making your dreams a reality by planning in advance. However, the universe does not revolve around us humans, no matter how special we want to think we are. We are masterpieces created by stardust and molecular interactions, and the universe isn't here to serve our silly hopes for living happily-ever-afters by "pointing us in the right directions." I understand that the purpose of your vlogs are to provide an escape from the reality of the world right now, but please. I invite you to leave the vlogging camera down for a day. Practice mindfulness. Learn about critical thinking. Have you considered both sides of the story- like how flawed The Secret is? London and the Costwolds is NOT a microcosm of the rest of the world. Not everyone was born with the same privileges as you, so it is very, very important to be humble and understand the bigger picture. Again, I mean no harm. As someone who used to enjoy your videos, I wanted to provide some feedback. It's up to you whether to take it or leave it.

Manifesting works; the Secret explains it so artfully. When the book came out, I revisited my past looking at HUGE life event I had manifested and found the newspaper clipping where I said to the reporter who asked me, "So, how does it feel?" And I replied, " I felt I already had it, and now I do." A strong point in the Secret; feel it's yours! You have to ask yourself why is Josie's success bothering me and not making me elated for her. She works very hard, that's obvious, and she did plan and dream. And she deserves the spoils for her efforts. Do you know how many people work hard and don't get ahead, why? Poor planning maybe, but one key ingredient that every successful person has done is manifested, it's that little extra magic (some might call it serendipitous luck) that will take you to whole other level. We all own a pair of critical glasses, but suggest you put yours down for awhile as they are clouded and get a sunnier pair! Mean no harm, understand you're entitled to your opinion, but your opinion sounds like you are feeling insignificant and undeserving "created by stardust and molecular interactions, and the universe isn't here to serve our silly hopes." You are an extraordinary creature and your hopes are not silly unless you say they are. I would love for you to experience the joy of manifesting. Maybe start with a vision board...small steps. Some manifesting takes time, and others can happen overnight... keep your eyes open, Love! It's not for just the privileged, it's for everyone, no matter what your circumstance in life. And I will rejoice with you on your successes!!! Peace and joy to you!

It’s interesting that the various opinions on this sound similar to me. “Practicing mindfulness” is a way of achieving focus. So is planning for the life we want. 🤷🏼‍♀️ The thing I learned recently that helps me be happier is not expecting people to be what we want them to be.

It seems to help you achieve your goals and you always seem to have such a posivie attitude. If it works for you, continue with it. Hi, lovely video so far as always. My flower hack would be cut the flowers you want to have in the centre of your bouquet a little longer and the ones the go round the outside a little shorter, this way you can create a nice domed effect and don't hide the most beautiful ones in the centre.

Wow Josie You really fancy yourself for high living with this house. I say dream big and be happy with something you love. Your home ; and I say home not house is so much more your style and your love for it is so genuine. Honestly your home has so much more charm than the Cross Hill House. The CHH is cold and empty of warmth. Your home is full of promise, hope, and love.

I saw you emotional when telling us about the other house. I could see how important it is to you. Again, your house is an absolute dream. And so many good things are on their way in both of your lifes. In your house. So, CONGRATULATIONS ! Esmeralda

I believe in dreaming of the things you would love for your future. But I am a Christian and I personal believe in Jesus Christ and prayer. I believe as a Christian not only do you desire and pray for things and I’m not talking about just material things but spiritually, physically, and emotionally. I think Jesus wants great things for his children and that he gives us the desires of our heart when we trust in him. I didn’t mean to get so deep but I’m very passionate about this. Love all your vlogs and I’m so happy for you and Charlie and of course the doggies. Get so great education from you both on things I didn’t know, and enjoying it immensely. 🙌🏻😊💛

Pam Kirby 🇬🇧 I’m bred from deep good Christian stock and I also struggled with this concept to the point of dismissal of LOA BUT.... whatever/whomever you attribute the manifestation to.... if you choose to believe that God is the creator of ALL things.... where’s the dilemma 💁🏻‍♀️

Dianne Bensen thank you...I will say this I was diagnosed with 3 autoimmune diseases at the age of 50. I am now 55 and with much prayer( I will more than likely have numerous struggles) I’m walking without a walker now and even walking daily about a mile, sometimes a little more. But I decided in that moment that I would speak out more about Jesus because without him I couldn’t even get out of bed. And I’m also thankful for the medications and the doctors too. He is the creator of it all, and thank you for speaking up so I know that it does make a difference to speak up about our beliefs too 🙌🏻😊💛

I love your house and I am very jealous so I do enjoy the escapism of your vlogs. However just to put in perspective you have purchased a house, add to wardrobe nearly every day, get some expensive food from dalesford, buy lights like they are going out of fashion not mention all the other crockery and homeware items...and all I have bought since lockdown extra as a treat was a £5 bubble bath which I still feel guilty about buying. I knew I should have been a vlogger instead🤣

Hey Josie! Try trimming your flowers in water and then put them a vessel filled with water immediately after trimming the stems. Air pockets are created, cells die, and the stems start to dry the longer freshly cut stems are out of water which can inhibit water absorption. This can lead flowers dying faster or not opening up properly. Hope this helps :)

It's fair to say that the target audience of The Secret is citizens in 1st world commerce based countries. Institutionalized poverty and war are out of reach of the individual except where open, free elections exist. Cancer patients can and do use visualization -often picturing their cells destroying cancerous cells as well as restored health. Does anyone know if the author of that book donated proceeds to end war and hunger?

The Secret is one of the more popular books in my country Kenya so it isn't fair to say that. Also, been watching Josie's videos for about 6 years now, also from one of these non-commerce non 1st world based countries and she's really helped me build my wardrobe and with my skin care routine. To clarify, I'm an African, a black one along with being Kenyan.

Kinda put off by that first world remark. People experience struggle in the "first world" countries and enjoy prosperity in whatever other countries you have in mind. I don't get why everyone is applying this idea to stuff like war, crime, pandemic or other global things. It is a veryyy personal, mindset thing. Not sure why so many comments are so self righteous...

@@patronusstag because if the power of the "Secret" actually works then to use it solely for self gain when there's so much suffering and pain in this world is disgusting. The epitome of the cult of the individual.

It’s a good idea to cut flowers as soon as you receive them-and put stems in water immediately after cutting. (Some florists even advise cutting under water.) The stems of some flowers begin sealing over almost immediately when cut. If this happens it’s like a clogged straw and the stem won’t be able to draw up/“drink” the water properly. I’m very much enjoying your home and garden videos, Josie...All the best to you and yours! 💞 ~LeAnn

I definitely think you are what you think about, which drives one to work hard and strategize to achieve their goals. The Secret is an effective approach to shape one's own life...to an extent. It loses credibility and is almost insulting to believe such a powerful force exists and yet it would be used for self gain. I support Josie's work ethic and positivity, but if The Secret was real, it would be ashame for it not to be directed toward more noble aims that would help humanity as a whole.

Hello Josie!! I feel the same way about flowers as you do. Flowers is how I show my love to the people I gift them to. I would always give my mother flowers. There was no need for a specific occasion. I am so drawn to your positivity Josie. You are truly an inspiration in so many areas. Your work ethic is so refreshing. It is absolutely stunning when you dream of something so strongly - and hold on to it - that it does come true! You did so with 'The Secret'. My late friend Eileen taught through her own life doing vision boards. I pray to God, and I ask others to pray in agreement with me. I get that from my parents, especially my father, who would make specific prayer events like a novena (a 9-day or 9-week happening) for an outcome otherwise deemed impossible, 'airy-fairy' if you like.

The Secret is rooted in religion, statements like everything happens for a reason, ask and it will be given, seek and you shall find all come from the bible. I do believe we can control our thoughts, our behaviours and how we respond to different situations. It also makes absolute psychological sense that we get what we focus on and become like the people we surround ourselves with. Making a vision board is a great tool for focusing the mind and reminding you of your goals. Also having a happy, positive personality is more likely to endear you to other people and for them to want to help you. However nothing happens just by wishing for it. When I watched the Secret back in 2006 very little attention was paid on actually doing anything other than having a wish list of material possessions. I believe things only happen when you make them happen through hard work and setting goals / intentions. You can not just have something because you really really want it. On a previous vlog Josie you said both of your parents worked very hard and that was way before the Secret existed. They instilled a solid work ethic in you and it is with both your work and their efforts that you are where you are now. I think the whole idea of the universe making things happen is just another word for God, another way of asking people to have faith, giving people hope which is all good. But people you can't spend your lives being dreamers, you have to also take action.

I am so blown away by your manifestation! You can make all of your dreams come true, I do believe that! I had a similar experience with manifestation. We needed to move for my husband's job and he told me I could start looking for a place near the beach since it was always my dream but not previously possible due to work location. The first place I found online I fell in love with - a four-story townhouse on the ocean with every amenity and just my absolute dream and located in an up and coming area. Stunning. The price was way out of our range and I was sure he would not like it because we were currently in a very large house on four acres. I showed him the listing and was right, he didn't show interest. We ended up renting a condo because we didn't find anything we liked to buy. However, I kept checking on the townhouse every now and then which was still for sale. I started driving to the neighborhood and walking my dogs around. I even met one of the neighbors in the townhouse next door who raved about the community. I kept picturing us living there and when our lease was up a year later, the townhouse was still on market and I talked my husband into seeing it in person. He fell in love with it and was able to negotiate a fantastic deal!!!! Keep dreaming big you two and thank you always for your lovely videos! :)
