What would you consider minimum barrel wall thickness?

I’m having trouble understanding why a chamber gauge won’t work on an american gun like a Parker or Fox..? I ask because i own a Parker and am going to look at a Fox tomorrow night both in 16ga.

Length times girth divided by the circumference of the base squared.

Just imagine the comments in 10 to 20 years on this video about the shotguns pictured. 2 Random examples used that will eventually become their own legacy. I know who ever wins these would love to know the providence of them being the examples in educational video. May seem trivial but years later it is almost always "...only if this gun could talk......".
