It has been nice seeing your progression on the repairs to your vessel. This is a nice way to ensure you always have the measurements so you don't have to do it again. There were 8 measurements which consist of: 48ft 8 inches Luff 49ft 6 inches Leach 15ft 6 inches Foot 49ft 9 inches at the tack to mast 17ft 5 inches maximum foot length from tack to out hole .75 or 2cm inches mast opening slit lip luff groove entrance height - groove down to tack left tape size - use a drill bit to do that

Hello Yvette, I don’t mean to discourage or criticize but to share information to consider as you do more repairs. Those twisted wires may not pass a safety inspection, on a boat of any kind safety calls for crimped type connectors to prevent arching between the wires, especially if salt water got into the joint. For a better joint cover the connector with some dielectric grease and seal them with adhesive lined shrink tubing. If adhesive lined shrink tubing is not available you can use Permatex (r) Liquid Tape, it goes on liquid and dries into a rubbery coating. The idea is to do all possible to keep water out of the joint.

The heat shrink we used has adhesive in it but we picked up some liquid tape like you suggested and we will be soldering everything from now on. Thanks for the advice :)
