@@SouthernCountryLiving Thanks so much for writing back, that sure meant a lot to me!! 😃 I know y'all had fun & a lot of laughs talking about the old times! We had plenty of those old cars also. After you were talking about them in your video, we started thinking about the old clunkers that we've had & we sure had a good chuckle about it. 😀 By the way, your garden is looking great! Thanks again to you both. Take care, Kim.

This is so precious. My husband and I were married March 29,1975. I lost him on Jan 27, 2009 due to an accident. We were also poor. Whatever we got we had to work hard and save. Life was simple and so much fun. We worked in factories our entire marriage and several times were laid off due to plant closings. But the Lord always opened another door for us to keep going forward. Wish we had of lived closer to you guys, we could have listened to the eight tracks together and rode around the hamburger joints, we couldn't afford to stop and buy a burger. Haven't we all seen so many things change over the years. Our memories are precious.

Your story is one I know. My husband was a blind date and we knew almost instantly that we wanted to be together for the rest of our lives. I was just starting my senior year of high school and he was three years older and in college. No one else in either family thought it was a good idea. When I graduated from high school we eloped to Folkston, Georgia and got married. We found ourselves alone and having to figure out the rest of our lives. We also had the cars with holes in the floor and no windshields. It was the best decision we ever made. We were married for 59 years before he died and that was three years ago. I still miss him.

My husband and I met in highschool. We got married in 69 and he always said I was his highschool sweet heart. 😁 He's been dead now was 4 years august. Enjoy yas time together. I wanted to renew my vows on our 50 annerversy. But he passed for then. We were not saved when we got married and got saved in our twenties. But we did renew our vows on his death bed .😢 I don't desire to have another husband, would never find one like my first. He was a preacher of 40 years , and he lived what he preach. Love one another till death do you part. 🙏

My husband and I were together in high school. John is 3 years older than I. Our story is an interesting one. In high school we dated each other‘s friends. John graduated & went into the Navy in 1971. I graduated from high school in 1974 went to college & became an RN. Fast forward. 20+ years. We hadn’t seen each other for years and had lost touch. I got married in 1979, had one daughter born in 1981. John got married in 1983 and could not have children. I divorced my first husband in 2002. John was already divorced from his former wife years before. We met again at a high school reunion in 2003, started dating and got married November 19, 2005. We’ve been together for 19 years. I think of the history we had together thru the years. You see our families were friends. Our grandmothers played cards together. Yes, 2 Little Italian ladies from New York. Yet I didn’t know Johnny till I met him in high school. He is the love of my life and my forever love and I know I am his. We both believe that sometimes you have to walk thru a few doors in life before you go down the right path and that’s what happened with us. Now, it’s happily ever after together. So happy for the both of you too! Yours is a real love story!❤️

Thanks very much for sharing your story Joanne. I read it last night but waited until this morning to reply. I just finished reading it again and enjoyed it again. I'm so glad that the doors opened for you and John to be together. God is amazing. Marie and I have a saying that we have been using every since high school, "Love Always and Forever ". It's on every one of our letters that we wrote to each other while I was in the Army Reserves. Our children had it printed and framed for our 50th anniversary last year. We pray that you and John have a Blessed week, Calvin and Marie

Watching this at 3 am and loving every minute of it! You can just feel the love you have for each other by your gaze, words, and so much laughter that you share! My husband and I have been married 43 years, we both came from broken homes but had loving Christian mothers that raised us. Well I say raised us but we got married at 17 and they both agreed to sign for us, they knew each other from school and church. A few years ago my aunt found a picture of a birthday party for her daughter that our mother’s had attended, they were both pregnant with us in that picture. We cherish that picture now, as it only cements what we already knew that way back then God had a plan for us. Sorry this is so long but at 3 in the morning and watching your video has taken me back to so many precious memories, God bless you both and wishing you many more!☦️🙏

I really love ur story. It reminded me so much of my husbands and my story only we were high school sweethearts 10 yrs before u and married in 1959 but I was 18 and my husband was 20 so I was of age but my husbands father had to sign for him because in Texas girls were of age at 18 but boys had to be 21. My husband didn't think that was right at all. We were married for 50 wonderful years but he died of cancer that same year. I miss him so much still and could never imagine being with anyone else ever. We had some crazy car storie memories also. We did have a beautiful church wedding but on a very tight budget. My husband always loved to say were an odd couple...I was a cheerleader and she was an allstate athlete. We have 3 children..1 boy and 2 girls...4 grandchildren...3 boys and 1 girl and 3 great grandchildren...3 girls. He would've loved the great grandchildren so much. Congratulations on ur long happy marriage. So glad u still have each other and pray u have many more years of happiness together. I really enjoy ur videos. Ur music choices are wonderful. Last May first I lost my wife of 39 and a half years. I fell in love with her the first time I saw her. I think it took her a little longer. We got engaged a couple of months later. Nobody in her family was surprised. They figured it out before we did. The only people that were surprised was us. Getting used to her being gone has been tough. I keep wanting to tell her something and I expect to see her when I come in the house. Several months after she died, I had the only dream I had about her. All I could see was an outline, but I knew it was her.

I had to re-watch this although I have already seen this before. I guess KZbin got it to pop up again. What I want to say is that you two are obviously in love with each other every bit as much as you were when you first got married, and and it really shows. Not many couples can say that. You sure proved those dubious relatives of yours wrong!! I bet those relatives were glad later that you did get married.😂🎉❤

Thanks very much Kathleen, I think that we really did show them.

Well as a Canadian ✝🌼💮 Happy Anniversary to you, what an interesting story, and as a European Canadian, it astounds me how North Americans / Canadians/Americans went about marriage. In Europe it was not unusual to have been married young. But it had to be in a Church, I don't know what Church you belong to. I find it difficult the way Church is in southern States...very different. Your story is quite nice and Congratulations in your anniversary. One thing I wanted to mention is your story should be in the pages of a school life education...too many people and young people do not reap the benefits of humility and do not want to try having a family without all the bells and whistles...you should teach the children of today for sure and humanity. What a beautiful blessed life, you had God really brought you two together...... You see all that you have said, is missing in this time period in the youth they simply are being feared to bring on a family... Well God bless !
