I was so encouraged by this! I have been praying for the last 8 years for a Godly spouse. I’m 36 and STILL waiting … this helped me as I’m exhausted from the dating scene. I told God I didn’t want anymore distractions that I wanted the real thing. I love how you talk about at 34 minutes that everyone was in agreement for you to go and meet him. Its exactly like in rebekka meeting isaak (these are the german names, I don’t know how they are called in english). The helper finds the family of her, suggests the marriage of both of them and rebekka goes to her family and talks to them and THEN decides to go with the helper and meet isaak. Our Lord is so so good. Also you are extremely lucky to have people around you that are active prayers and protecting and guiding both of you spiritually.

When I compromised by spirituality by dating people who were unequally yoked with me - it always ended badly, plus even during the relationship I was not satisfied. Thank you for this! Love it and love how you said that you can’t miss what God has for you, it’s really hard when you meet someone that you feel so sure in your spirit but I let fear stop it, and now they ended up getting into a relationship, and feel like I missed out. But trusting God, and having to remember he’s in control! It’s just hard when your 26 and never been in a relationship, but I’m trusting God that he knows and has best and putting him first.

Yeah, it trust and faith can be a tough thing. It requires more time spend with God through reading His Word, prayer, and worship. The more time we spend with Him, the more our trust and faith will grow for Him. I (James) was finally able to get married at 39 years old. I was really struggling my last several years as I waited for Him to bring the right one into my life. But, it was 100% worth the wait! God is so good! :)

I am sorry but I have a hard time with that list thing. I know we can expect from God and that He gives us the desires of our heart; nevertheless I also believe that the list thing works for everyone as most of the time God knows exactly what we need and who will be good for us. I fear many Christians miss on their person because they follow a list. I think if you ask God if the person is for you or not even if the person seem to miss some minor point of your list God will help you to know. How many times have I begged God for something and he refused it to Me but then would give me something way better than my expectations…? I think that our standards should be biblical and not man made because that person that you got according to your “perfect list” the day they disappoint you or do something you did not planned or expect from them what will you think? That God failed you?

I get that God is detailed but the measurements part I was confused. I know we are humans and we have preferences and no issues with that. My question is what if your wives measurement changes? Women have kids, grow differently etc. just a whole lot happens to women bodies. I’m just confused about the message that is coming across especially if we call ourselves Christians. While our stories can inspire others, we have to be careful about how we objectively look at women. The whole story, the that measurement part threw me off a bit.
