I found it useful. Such a presentation voice you have there. The voice sounded much like what I hear in certain Autodesk Inventor tutorials. Well done

I know! We've been looking for a video on this forever. For a fairly common problem, like this one, you'd think there'd be loads of information on it. Methinks, it's so aggravating having to dig that part out, people won't be bothered to catch some video of it. hahaha!

That lower bracket that you can barely see has TWO bolts, one on top, and one hidden by the fuel lines. It WILL not move unless you remove the top bolt, then loosen the bottom bolt four or five turns so that the bracket wiggles enough to get it out of the way. Regarding the gasket, when I removed the throttle body the gasket split. So I had to get one at the local Hyundai dealer as I didn't want to wait for my local parts store to order it. The dealer was funny, he said, is that the gasket with four holes? I said, no three holes.. And he said, but what about the BIG hole in the middle? :) Another note, if you're not a mechanic, and I'm not, removing some of those electrical connectors is a fiddly affair. One requires depressing the top, the other the bottom. Took me three hours in all from start to finish. And I needed a small stepstool to reach...

One more thing... The TPS sensor did not exactly align with the throttle. At the smaller end, where it mates with a metal stub that has one flat edge., it helped to depress the throttle plate just a little, which moves that metal stub into a better position to mate with the sensor.

hello Chan, thank you for this video.. i have similar car and have been having issues of loss of power after starting the car.. at times while accelerating on the highway the car suddenly loose power.. how was your car behaving before you changed the throttle position sensor,? this can give me the idea if the throttle sensor is the problem with my car.. i have actually changed the fuel pump, airflow meter, plugs because of this problem. thank you for your reply.
@starcat708 жыл бұрын
Joseph Konboye Hi! Before we changed the sensor, the car was a bit sluggish at takeoff and lost power randomly. Finally, the engine light came on and the car went into "limp home mode", which is just enough power to get you somewhere, but not very fast at all. We took it to Autozone and had them scan the computer for the error code (free of charge), and it came up with the tps problem. After we replaced the tps, the car has more power and has been running smoothly. I hope this helps! Take care! ☺

Shauna Chan thank you so much for quick reply. I changed the TPS but the engine rpm isn’t stable. And I still have both warning signs. Did you do any programming after installation?
@starcat705 жыл бұрын
@@sajjad.esmaeilpour Hi! I'm sorry you are still having trouble with the car. I did not do any programming, though I did drive several miles to let the computer reset and the warning lights turned off. In your car's case, it may have gone into safe mode, which could explain the rpm issue. There could be a few causes for safe mode to be initiated and it might be best to have the car tested for error codes. I had my car's diagnostics tested for free at AutoZone then received the error codes and a list of the parts needed. I hope this helps! Keep me posted!

Shauna Chan Thanks again. I can’t move the car, so I need to buy a code reader/scanner. Anyway I disconnected the battery tonight, and hopefully tomorrow the ecu would be reset.
@starcat705 жыл бұрын
@@sajjad.esmaeilpour Having a code reader is a very good idea. As of yet, I don't have one. I've had enough problems with the car over the years, though, and a scanner seems like it would be worth the investment! I do hope all goes well. Take care! :)

I'm currently having these issues with my 2007 Hyundai Sante Fe. First, I had issues with my battery holding clamps. It was causing ESC problems every few miles. Once I replaced them, the issues were only happening once every 50 miles or so on average. Sometimes more frequent and sometimes less frequent. How often did the vehicle "spasm" on you? I'm thinking about my options on how to fix it by going the cheapest routes first to the most expensive last. This seems like my next option. Wanted to compare notes with you or anybody else who had these issues.
@starcat707 жыл бұрын
Paddistic Hi! It sounds like you're having similar issues as we did. The car behaved erratically, going into "limp home" mode, about every other week for about 3 weeks. Maybe a month before that, the ESC warning had popped on, with seemingly no other issues. We took the car to AutoZone to have them test it free of charge. The cod
@starcat707 жыл бұрын
... the code pointed to the exact problem, so we replaced the necessary parts. We do the same thing, tackle the least expensive first, because sometimes that's all that need be done. I hope you're able to get your car running better. Let us know how it goes. And thanks for checking out the video! Take care!

You made no mention of any throttle body gasket that might be an interface between the throttle unit and the engine. Is there a gasket that might require replacement? If so, is there a part number?
@starcat708 жыл бұрын
At the time we did this repair, we did not realize we'd have to take the throttle body completely out just to replace the TPS. I did not think to mention it, because we didn't replace any gaskets other than what is between the throttle body and the TPS. There is a gasket between the throttle body and the engine and it's probably a good idea to go ahead and replace it. You will find throttle body gaskets for the 2007 Sant Fe on rockauto.com . Search in the Fuel/Air section and throttle body. I hope this helps. Take care!

I have a 08 Hyundai Santa Fe and it has the TPS light on and check engine light now when. I put it in drive it stills say neutral on the dash and won’t go any where any help on this
@starcat705 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry for the late reply, I'm just now seeing this message. Hopefully, your car is working correctly now. I have not had the issue with it indicating "neutral" when in "drive", so I can't say for certain, but the shift indicator may be faulty, which could be part of the cause of the "check engine" light illuminating. You can get the car diagnostic codes at Autozone for free, or get a code reader tool, to see if the TPS is indeed faulty. They may also be able to diagnose the shift indicator. I hope this helps! So sorry, again, for the late reply!

My mechanic said the computer needs to be reset after replacement so the dealership has to do it. But according to this video that's a hard no....?
@starcat702 жыл бұрын
Hi! First, I'm not a mechanic. Having said that, depending on the car, you may have to drive 50 miles or more for the computer to reset itself and the check engine light will turn off. In other cases, a vehicle may need to be turned on and off several times for the computer to reset. For my car, I drove the necessary miles and the check engine light did turn off. I hope this helps! Thank you for watching!

I am not a mechanic. But I think you need to adjust tps sensor.
@wrenchboostboi89942 жыл бұрын
Some you do but obviously not this one… the ones you have to calibrate have slotted holes for the bolts so the sensor can be slid back n forth varying the degree it sits on the throttle butterfly shaft.
