so i'm one of your subs that knows NOTHING about sailing, and i somehow still like watching these videos. it's impressive how much y'all know about this stuff and how well you work together.

I enjoy this format of video. Not necessarily “tutorial based” but more along the lines of day in the life and what means to actually get the boat up and ready to sail. I for one enjoyed it! Every boat is different with different systems so it’s nice to see in my eyes. But I still love the adventure as well. A few of these mixed in time to time would be awesome!

I've been sailing since I was 9 years old (for 65 years now!) and when I sail my current boat, a Beneteau 373 which I've had for 19 years I do exactly what you do when we get underway. You did an excellent job of describing it. Really enjoy your channel.

There are many "cruiser" channels out there that can't sail to save their life. I have a lot of respect for your approach to be sailors first. And also a huge fan of your restoration work content.

This is a great video to remind me that I’d MUCH rather watch you sail, than to actually do it myself. Maybe when I was much younger but I’ll enjoy watching you in my latter years thank you….

I have watched every single episode. I wouldn’t want you to do this every time, but as somebody who used to sail Sunfish sailboats and knew what worked but not why I absolutely appreciate this type of video. Whether you are repairing something or sailing please don’t just tell us what you are doing but the why. You both have a “teachers” mind and are great at explaining things so anyone can understand. Can’t wait for your next adventure. I always learn something and for that I am eternally grateful. You all are doing what I would have done 40 years ago had I known it could be done. ( of course back then it was a lot harder to earn a buck while traveling). Keep it up, you three are awesome!

If you're trying to figure out what content people like the most I'll give you my quick take from most to least favorite (I'm middle aged, male, mechanically inclined) 1. Boat systems work - installing components, repairs, upgrades etc. 2. Sailing related - passages, passage prep etc. 3. Exploring places - on shore explorations etc. 4. Water sports activities - diving, fishing etc.

I thought this was a nice mix of planning, sailing, and instruction. Given that you had a long "close reach" section that was cut, maybe include a little of that with the sailing tweaks about tuning the boat / rig, including wind speed vs boat speed, so there would be a little more of a sailing tutorial. I'm enjoying the videos.

Nice job explaining apparent wind, telltales and getting the boat sailing, in a simple commentary. It's pretty easy to get lost in the physics of it all, and probably not interesting except to nerds like me, LOL. I'm also glad to see your sheeet attachment to the clew at the highest position, meaning the most tension on the jib leech. I see SO many of these roller furlers with a leech that is too loose, (= slow) and the sails look terrible at anything but hard on the wind. Most of them really need a barber hauler when let out on a broad reach or run, to maintain leech tension. A good leech = better speed.

Do you have a jib barberhauler system on the boat? We have a Dragonfly 32 trimaran and we are using our jib barberhauler as soon as we start to bear away from a close reach through a broad reach. It’s the only way to get all the telltales flying top to bottom on the luff of the sail and not have too much twist in the leech. It’s also good for the health of the sail as you don’t get the floppy leech thing that can lead to premature wear and tear on the sail. Nice boat!

Pretty sweet video. It's not that different from other content. The "boring" crew would probably enjoy the video if you labeled it something else. "35 Miles To Go", "Woah def wont learn anything here", "Big day on the water", "Certainly not a tutorial on how to sail", "if you think this is boring try sailing for 6 hours" (side note seeing a lot of top "boring" comments on other videos as well not sure why jerks are getting upvoted.) Would you ever do a slow sailing video? I enjoy having those on while i work. thanks for the content.
