Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU! ! ! I've been going bonkers thinking about how I would get internet, cellular service, etc, etc. while traveling in a 5th wheel. I'm currrently years away [I hope] from getting my RV since I won't be doing that until after my wife has passed. I'll be selling my house and trading it in for a 5th wheel so I am appreciating your videos. My last RV was a Hitchhiker 5th wheel back in 1991 and things have changed so much since then. Keep the videos coming my friends.

My comment comes in 2 parts. 1) my wife is VERY entertained by Todd's screaming at the keys kayak trip. We are entertained by all of your posts. Very fun filled videos. 2) we are not looking to do any business via internet. We will be retired. We are looking for suggestions as to where to look for reliable source for pet camera when we are away from the RV and for security cameras around the outside.

Great video! I just bought my travel trailer...selling everything and off I go. Since I work remotely, I need really good internet. Your video was the most informative one I've found (and I've watched a LOT of them). Thank you for all the info and laughs on your channel!!!

Nice job. I passed on a link to your video to a coworker that just purchased a travel trailer (their first). I did our rig differently, went with a pure cell boost system, works well for our needs. our rig is also a 2004 so we had a few different obstacles. we're part-time with no intention to full-time. tested our system on a 5 week working trip. worked well. anyway nice job, clean install, looks good. Safe Travels.

Great info! We ordered our GD 17MKE in September and took delivery just in time for our Wisconsin winter... can't wait to get on the road. We actually have Blink for our house. Such an easy system and the free cloud storage is great. We plan to have a few on our camper if we end up doing long-term camping some day. Thanks for such a refreshing channel... you guys have a great spark that almost all are missing!!!

Todd thanks for this video,we have a mofi which I was going to add a phone line....we have tmobile guess that won't work,I know your cameras probably take 110v but the mofi is actually 12vdc you don't need to plug into 110 ,hook adapter to house batt your mofi will work all the time

Hey Todd, good work. I am nervous and in my case I use a ladder mout for my antennas. I have a 18 ft mast and directional antenna, we camp were poor 3 g is normal and I can get LTE 4 now with my motif. I have used many different things, the motif to select the correct band is the only option. I am in Canada and use Rogers/ roams to ATT in US.you can get a lot of additional speed selecting the best band on the motif.

I would suggest that for your Antenna mount you replace the white PVC you used with the Grey PVC. The white does not last to long out in the sun. The grey lasts alot longer in the sun.

Nice video Todd... I need to know where you got the connector box and the fittings for it. I also would appreciate it if you would show how you set up your mofi , as far as on the computer. I love that you were excited, however I really wanted you to go more into detail about how it all works. Being an internet junkie and a complete nerd, I need complete details, so I hope in the future that you will make longer videos about your internet and the complete install and set up of the camera system. Keep up the great work. You are getting the hang of all of this... Just think in a few more trips, you may not be a complete newbie...lol

I will share the links of how the settings are established but if I can figure it out anyone can.. plus olive IP has a great support setup... they really helped me too... the hardest part is understanding the exterior antenna for better reception... last night we watched Netflix sitting down here in Florida Keys... so speed is awesome!

Best video yet! RV Geek time! Have you looked into StarLink? Within the next yr it should be in full operation across the US. Crazy speeds minimal latency anywhere with a sky view for $100 per month run off a global network of 12,000 satellites! Look forward to your camera setup. Have you decided on a type? I'm leaning towards Ring at the moment. Nest has crazy data uploads.

I went out west from Florida last year with Visible and never had a problem watching anything on TV. Only cost me $25 a month.

I have the exact same setup, but I went to my T-Mobile account and hit add a line / bring my own device so they sent me a SIM card in the mail. I put it in my MoFi and BINGO unlimited internet for $20.00. Maybe the issue you had was because the SIM card you tried was for that phone? I would try again rather than pay the higher monthly fees.

add a 2nd out door antenna and it will work even better, we used this setup for the last 4 years, then we went to the max transit.

Hey guys! We are waiting on our 395 to be built and are ordering as much as we can ahead of time. Is this setup still working well for you in various areas? Are you still happy with it or anything you would now do different? I’ll be working full time from the road so this is a big deal for me! Thanks!

We do like our current set up - we are getting ready to test it against another option....video to come soon on that.

FWIW, a directional antenna would be way better, BUT with the huge caveat that you have to re-aim it everytime you move.
@fred_brunell3 жыл бұрын
With the proliferation of mobile networks these days, that extra bit of gain is moot.

Are the speeds in the video fairly consistent that you are seeing? Reason I ask is I have seen some test that show SIM4 faster than SIM7 speeds, but that is all subjective to what band you are using, carrier, etc.
@SwitchItUpLife3 жыл бұрын
I did a band search and than did a band lock to stay consistent... this process will need to be done as we go to different places... I am a new to all this but happy with the results

Yep.. follow them but their set up was more money plus I believe they get endorsements so they probably don't even pay for their service... which is awesome for them but we don't have that option.. Run your router off 12 volt adapter that MoFi sells. No issues with lack of 110, and no need for the battery backup. You can tap into almost any light if there is no 12 volt near your router. Instyconnect (www.instyconnect.com/) looks to be a better solution than the MoFi (I plan to change to it and dump our MoFi).
