THIS is exactly how me and my wife travel. The key to traveling with expensive luggage is first class tickets and only taking carry ons. Would not recommend checking any designer luggage.

Me too! I always used grocery store plastic bags for my shoes and as a laundry bag for my dirty clothes whenever I traveled. If your state has stopped using plastic bags like mine did, then plastic produce bags to store your shoes and dollar store unscented garbage bags for your dirty clothes work just as well.

It could happen in the US as well. Our car got broken into here in the US and I suspect it was the hotel staff. It was just a quick weekend getaway in the middle of a shopping center. The staff saw us shopping most of the weekend and coming back in with designer shopping bags. I know it was staff because there was a security camera right above our vehicle and when we reported it they did not bother to watch.

I always find it interesting that people who fly with expensive luggage and /or fly first class don’t fly private airlines. We would rather fly JSX than roll expensive luggage through the airport two hours before the flight. If you haven’t tried it I recommend it.

No checked luggage and it was amazing! Can’t wait to invest in LV luggage. Goals ❤❤

I love the quality of LV bags. I had a bag which is already more than 10 years and still looks decent. Whereas my cheap luggage gave up after just 3 travels. The wheel just decided to separate from the others. Nothing wrong with buying expensive stuff as long as you know the quality is worth.

Put a little money aside that you may spend for your hair, nails, dinning out etc you get what I'm saying and buy one or two pieces of luggage at a time. You will eventually have the nice luggage you want and don't forget your airtags. It's okay to save and never loan it out. It beats trash bags or Aldi, Walmart bags etc. You get what I'm saying.

This is why I said I keep a plastic custom fit cover in the bag as well. It’s scratch proof, waterproof, dust proof etc. I had to check it recently on a Cessna from Belize and had no issues. But even if I did, I’d just go to LV and have them repair it. I’ve never made a fuss

Unfortunately, she's not very smart about investing as it makes no sense to purchase custom LV luggage with your initials on it. It renders them basically impossible to sell and lessens their value as investment pieces. So you're basically stuck with luggage that you can't sell, even as vintage pieces, later on. Unless you find someone with those exact initials and they want that red stripe and they are willing to purchase them, you're taking a loss.

This isn’t in regards to the cost or preference in luggage she used. I would never store my passport in my luggage, I would never travel with high end luggage. 1-it puts a target on your luggage for theft/yes people go through your stuff and steal. 2 your luggage gets destroyed in travel/turns black from. Lastly luggage gets lost.. AirTag may or may not work… depending if it’s even still in your luggage. Totally up to you but I’ve been traveling for two years and learned a lot. I keep it simple and low key. My luggage has been gone through many times… it’s obvious because they aren’t discrete about when they rummage through your stuff.

Yes, it’s not worth it to check in expensive things. But, she mentioned they use these as carry ons and the passport was in her duffel, which will likely go under the seat. That pink thing goes into the outer cover so the passport won’t be exposed either. So the luggage won’t get lost and the passport will be safe and easily accessible.

In my experience of Jamaica, Morocco, Greece and Columbia if you brought these, you may as well say goodbye to it. My guide in Jamaica said you're even a target if you have basic but new looking luggage. When you return from breakfast, your belongings will have grown legs and no one saw anything

I was gifted a very nice Loui luggage set years ago. But I noticed many of the people in the wealth group I aspired to be in typically did not travel with popular luxury branded bags. An old timer told me “son you’re young get the bling if you want it it’s your money, but when you’re old you may just want quality no matter the label” and that’s when I was turned onto stealth wealth. Still love the classic LV trunks call me vintage flashy lol

Enjoy your luggage as you wish. People tend to judge others for having things they wish they could buy. I have the LV carry on too. LV must be charging a lot more in the US. The duffle and carry on combined is under 5k elsewhere.
