Thanks for the video! Just purchased 2 Husky 45 gal bins today after watching your video instead of hitch bike rack. I like having the bikes inside our 5th wheel. NO rain , no worrying about them falling off or someone taking them off. ( H.D. now priced at 39.99)( cheaper ones available without wheels and lightweight... won't last as long)

THANK YOU. Everything I needed to know. Bike just arrived today, haven’t even unboxed it cause it’s ‘TO DARN HOT’. But followed your previous vid about the totes and did order and receive it. Haven’t made the mods yet but have everything to do it. This one was very helpful as I am hoping fingers crossed I will be able to heft it either into my tear drop which will be a tight fit. Will try the empty tote box first see how that goes, OR into my SUV. Either one will be a challenge as a solo traveler. I’ll have to ‘PUMP UP’ real quick. Having the totes is BRILLIANT. You two have great chemistry on camera and off I’ll bet. THANK SO MUCH. RIDE ON!!!

We have a portable ramp that we use to put our e-lawn mower into the back of our pickup. I'm going to see if we can use it to roll a tote with an ebike inside. Removing the ebike batteries will lighten the load.

Great demonstration! I’ve used totes too, and I have given detailed instructions on the best way to load an eBike into a pickup, with cap. (In my case the Lectric XP Premium. Several things that I liked. You had your wife helping you (I will use that with mine to convince her… if necessary😉😁) Then there are those pipe insulators, genius! I’ll be adding that to mine. (64 gallon yellow handle, heavy duty tote with wheels). Also liked the use of a extendable brace. I have one already but they would come in handy if I get a cargo trailer. Thanks. Lastly, to keep the tote from moving/falling over I added a cargo strap (without the ratchet) to go around the tote. Mine attaches to the bedside rail. The strap held, but would slip occasionally because of temperature or extended movement. I fixed that with some bent coat hanger metal shaped into an S. This keeps the strap up near the edge(where you have the pipe insulation. Eventually I’ll add so E small hangers (1 inch strap looped, with a buckle on the ends to keep it from falling through the slot in the tote edge). Anyway great video, hope these suggestions help. By the way, I notice you commented on the bikes weight. All together the two batteries on the Premium weigh 15 pounds. I always take them off before moving the bike. They go behind the drivers side seat in the cab. I keep them in a fireproof bag that allows charger(s) to thread through. That and a fire blanket is what I rely on if the unthinkable happens. As to an extinguisher, most would not work, so removing the batteries really counts. The only extinguisher I know of that can reduce or eliminate a battery fire would be a decent size CO2 pressurized extinguisher. Better safe than sorry…

Another RV’er puts the bin vertically then rolls the folded bike in then tips the bin down. No lifting. Then he uses a dog ramp from Amazon (which has to be stored- it telescopes) so he doesn’t have to lift the bin- he easily does it himself. I’d want to avoid lifting as his method allows

I've just purchased 2 folding ebikes xp 2.0 and this was very helpful. A suggestion: Can you remove the seat post and put the handlebar where the seat post was? Good videos. I appreciate your thoroughness. I’m curious why you don’t put the bikes in the bed of the truck? I understand the desire to gain more space inside the Rv but even with the torsion axles, there is a lot of weight and leverage on the rear end of a travel trailer. I’ve seen lots of bouncing bikes on the back of trailers especially when crossing overpasses. Last one had the front wheel of a bike dragging on the ground. Of course he had five bikes on the back. 😮 We always hauled ours either in the bed of the truck or on a special bracket I built on the dinette seats.
@TNTRVing
@TNTRVing 7 ай бұрын
Great question, we unfortunately do not have room in the truck for our bikes. When they were new we really wanted to keep them inside and protected. We now carry them on a beefed up bike rack on the back of Belle. They ride really well with minimal movement. Here is a link to that video. My wife and I just purchased 2 Lectric bikes and decided to pick up a few totes for traveling in fifth wheel. Wanted to ask where you store your bikes when camping? Do you bring them inside daily or just chain up? We're excited to use these for the first time but want to keep protected as well. I feel we'll bring ours in at night even though it will cramp us some with space. Thoughts??

I used to worry about my solar set up and thievery but once I got out there and saw everyone had them, I had been in decades, I relaxed a bit. Now I’m seeing eBkes a lot at campgrounds. I’d live with hope that the campers code still exists and that things will remain where I left them. Within reason, of course.
