Al, I know that you have gotten flack for expressing your spiritual views but I thank you for sharing. It is always and inspiration and touches my heart deeply. when we are out in the water or on shore we need God to touch our fishing because he allows us to benefit from our experiences fishing. Be we catch and release or a bounty for the pan. I am thankful and grateful for just being out there and watching his handy work. I personal do not question what I believe as God is my rock and inspiration. I know I am a sinner but God is there to keep me moving forward, sharing the blessings he has bestowed on me, teaching and learning from reading the Bible, and moreover keeping me strong in his word. God bless you with all your lesson in fishing and God. Thanks

That is indeed a significant temperature drop. I own Jaguar cichlids and they like the there temperature between 82 and 88. They can tolerate the upper 90s .. And on several occasions I have accidentally forgot to plug the heater back in after a water change and I didn't realize it for a day our two and theemperatures would drops from about 84 down to 74 ish and I say that they would eat about 10 to 15% of the normal amount when the temperature is correctt

I think your question at the end was awesome. However, I don't believe that you were saved because of a sinners prayer. If you were saved then it might have been in spite of the sinners prayer. You see, nowhere in the Bible does God give us that example of sharing the Gospel. The Gospel tells us 4 basic things: 1) Who God is 2) what God has done 3) why God did it 4) what God produces So in the comment section I'd like to explain why I believe the Bible. Then I'd like to share a clear presentation of the Gospel.
@DanielDaniel-jj3ny

Why I believe the Bible: (comment 1 of 5) Its one of the most important answers that we could ever give to our culture, and it is a question that deserves an honest answer from anyone who professes to believe, mainly because legitimate questions deserve a legitimate answer. So understand that I'm going to do 3 things so that you are more informed of not just what I profess to believe in, but also why I believe it to be biblically true and so accurate that the very truth itself will hold itself up under ANY scrutiny. There is a wall that most don't usually think about. It's a wall that hasn't been torn down necessarily by my adversary, but in many instances it's been torn down by those who profess to be Christian. You see as Christians we've responded to rationalism, to logical positivism, and secular humanism. And in responding to those things that were so heady they led us away from the passionate pursuit of a Holy God. Then many have come full circle so that now the pendulum has swung in the other direction. So then in many instances many professing Christians have become anti intellectual and have actually moved beyond anti intellectualism, to almost into mysticism. We are in a place where theology and doctrine are bad words to lots of people who profess to be Christian. And so therefore we are at a place where the generation that is coming up will believe anything....that is,.... if you say it with enough feeling. So then there is an intellectual wall that needs to be rebuilt. We need to be a people who loves the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, AND with all our MIND. Yet, because of our fallen nature (the flesh) and because of all the enticements the world and Satan throws at us we don't like doing the digging and reading of the scriptures, do we? And in some cases, with some people, even when those scriptures have been handed to them "on a silver platter" and the digging has already been done for them still they simply believe whatever someone tells them to believe as long as that person says it with much conviction. Most will answer this question and say that they believe the Bible or whatever they believe because they were raised to believe the Bible or to believe what they do. But this is not a reasoned response. Understand that because we live in this postmodern culture that rejects objective truth and has adopted a reality of experience response where what is true for you is not necessarily true for me. And because experience is king then there's another answer that many have become accustomed to, which is, "because I tried it and it worked for me." But if you're only answer is you believe it because you tried it and it worked for you then you only open up an illogical hole big enough to set the largest back hole in. So then for example, the individual who used to be an alcoholic, when they went to an AA meeting someone told them that they needed a higher power. So then because they don't understand any higher power they go out and find out that climbing mountains works for them to keep them from drinking. Whatever works right? But then lets say they slip and fall to their death. So then according to that logic, then their climbing mountains has as much authority as your Bible, and they go to hell where there is no happy hour. So, is that your final answer that you're willing to give to back up your faith? And is that answer solid enough that you believe it will get you the victory over the last enemy that we all face, death? Continue in next comment.....

Comment 2 of 5 Now, allow me give you another response. I need something more then...."just because it works for me," and because "I was raised that way." You see, I believe the Bible because it is a reliable collection of historical documents that were written down by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses. They report of supernatural events that took place in the fulfillment of specific prophecy and claimed that their writings are devine rather than human in origin. Now just in case anyone might think that I just made that up... pay very close attention and I will show you how this interpretation was actually built from a biblical foundation. "For WE did not follow CLEVERLY DEVISED TALES when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were EYEWITNESSES of His majesty. For when He received honor and glory FROM GOD the Father, such an utterance as this was made to Him by the Majestic Glory, “This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased” and we ourselves heard this utterance made from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. So we have the PROPHETIC WORD made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. But know this first of all, that NO PROPHECY OF SCRIPTURE IS A MATTER OF ONE'S OWN INTERPRETATION, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved BY THE HOLY SPIRIT spoke FROM GOD." (2 Peter 1:16-21) 1st understand that the Bible is a reliable collection of historical documents. In verse 16 Peter says, "We did not follow cleverly devised tails when we made know to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Luke says it like this.... "Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile an account of the things accomplished AMONG US, just as they were handed down to us by those WHO FROM THE BEGINNING WERE EYEWITNESSES and servants of the Word, it seemed fitting for me as well, having INVESTIGATED everything carefully from the beginning, to write it out for you in consecutive order, most excellent Theophilus; SO THAT YOU MAY KNOW THE EXACT TRUTH about the things you have been taught." (Luke 1:1-4) Paul says, "Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the REVELATION OF THE MYSTERY kept secret since the world began but now made manifest, and BY THE PROPHETIC SCRIPTURES made known to all nations, according to the commandant of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith" (Romans 16:25-26) We actually have a reliable source of historical documents, and not myths or fairy tales. Not only that... we have eye witnesses that wrote them down by other eyewitnesses. John puts it to us like this.... "That which was FROM THE BEGINNING, which WE HAVE HEARD, which WE HAVE SEEN with our eyes, which we have looked at and OUR HANDS HAVE TOUCHED--this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, WHICH WAS WITH the Father and has appeared to us. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, SO THAT YOU ALSO MAY HAVE FELLOWSHIP with us. And our fellowship is with the Father AND with His Son, Jesus Christ." (1 John 1:1-3) continue in next comment.....

Comment 3 of 5 RELIABLE/HISTORICAL/EYEWITNESSES: Then there are some people who argue that there were individuals who came and doctored the Bible up. They would argue that it's been translated so many times and changed so many times by overzealous monks so that it would match up and look as if we have older documents then we actually have. They would also argue that we don't have any of the originals. But think about what they're saying and understand that if overzealous monks wanted to change the Bible what exactly they would have to do to accomplish this. There would have to have been three levels of conspiracy. Level 1: They would have had to manuscripted a conspiracy. Just with the New Testament alone there are over 6,000 manuscripts or portions of manuscripts. We only have 5 manuscripts of Aristotle's poetics, just 5, yet the world swears by him, and in a moment you'll see why this is important to know. With the New Testament, even though we dont have any of the originals, we can get earlier then 120ad with some of the copies that we do have. But when it comes to Aristotle, the earliest copy of his manuscript is 1400 years after the original. Yet nobody is tearing down the doors at colleges because they are teaching about Aristotle. So then with the New Testament we can put our hands on documents that were written within decades of the originals. So then if overzealous monks wanted to doctor the Bible, then they would have had to find over 6,000 manuscripts, change all of them, not show their ink work, get them all back from where they stole them from, and never tell anybody what they did. But that's just level 1 of what they would have had to pull off. Level 2: Jesus said to go and make disciples of all the nations.... or more accurately known as people groups or ethnic groups. There is only 1 race, and that race is humankind, but many ethnic groups. This begs the question....exactly how many different languages are there in the world? Within the first few centuries we have the Bible translated in Greek, Syriac, Coptic, and Latin. So now these overzealous monks would have had to find over 6,000 Greek manuscripts, over 6,000 Syriac manuscript, over 6,000 Coptic manuscripts, and over 6,000 Latin manuscripts, change all of them to match the lies told in the other language, not show their ink work, get them all back from where they stole them from, and never tell anybody what they did. Yet... that's just level 2. Level 3: The early church fathers had this habit of writing commentary on the New Testament. So much so that but Bruce Metzger argues that if all we had of the New Testament was the quotations and citations by the early church fathers then we could reproduce over 95% of the New Testament just from their writings. So now these overzealous monks would have had to find over 6,000 Greek manuscripts, over 6,000 Syriac manuscript, over 6,000 Coptic manuscripts, and over 6,000 Latin manuscripts, change all of them to match the lies told in the other language, then change the writings from the early church fathers, not show their ink work, get them all back from where they stole them from, and never tell anybody what they did, and never get caught. Let me ask, would it be fair to say...."help anyone if they believe these overzealous monks actually pulled this off"? So then now do you see more specifically why I believe that we have a reliable collection of historical documents that were written down by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses? Continue in next comment......
@DanielDaniel-jj3ny
@DanielDaniel-jj3ny 4 жыл бұрын
Comment 4 of 5 SPECIFIC PROPHECY/FULFILLMENT OF SCRIPTURE: But I also believe that they report of supernatural events that took place of specific prophecy, and when Jesus was on the cross everything that was written in psalms 22 a thousand years earlier was said AND done to exact quote. Understand that David had never once seen crucifixion done in his life. This is because crucifixion had not yet been invented and would not be for a thousand years later. That is why Peter can say, "so we have the prophetic word made more sure." Therefore we have a reliable collection of historical documents that were written down by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses. They report to us supernatural events that took place of fulfillment of scripture. DEVINE WRITINGS/ RELIABLE: Not only that, they also claimed that their writings are devine, rather than human in origin. This is why these prophecies were fulfilled, because they were spoken from God through man... and not from man. Therefore the Bible wasn't written by men per say, but were written BY GOD the Holy Spirit. A typewriter, for example, is ONLY as good as the force feeding it the words. So then as an analogy we could say that the typewriter was the men who wrote, but God the Holy Spirit told these men what to write. Now just in case someone argues that men are fallible, while that is correct, the same argument doesn't hold up logically in a math class. Why? Because the text books are written by men, and therefore any student could argue that because it was written by men the teacher could not mark them as having the wrong answer. Same logic, different terms that most would say, "but....." The fact is it's the same logic. So then while just because man put pen to paper doesn't mean that you can always trust what's written, instead what you would ask is,...."is what's written reliable and objectively true?" So dont argue and allow excuses to deal with a faulty messenger, but ask yourself more importantly, is what the person saying true. Ask if it's internally consistent, is it corroborated, like 4 languages such as Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, and Latin. Or like 3 continents such as Aisa, Africa, Europe, and like over 40 authors that most of whom never met one another, yet over generations continued to write the same consistent message for 1400 years. How's that for corroboration? Continue in next comment.....

Comment 5 of 5 WE DON'T USE SCIENTIFIC METHODS ON HISTORICAL EVENTS/ OBSERVABLE, MEASURABLE, REPEATABLE vs EVIDENCE METHOD: But then most would say that they only believe what can be proven scientifically. Only.... respectfully speaking... that's just flat out stupid. Why is it stupid? Because we don't use scientific methods on historical events....yet we believe in historical events, right? Because in order to use the scientific method something has to be observable, measurable, and repeatable. We can't use the scientific method to prove that George Washington was our first president. Why? Because his presidency is not observable, measurable, or repeatable, yet we name cities and states after him, put him on our money, and teach our children about him in school everyday. So instead we use an evidence method and do what's done in a courtroom. We ask, "do we have any eyewitnesses, do the eyewitnesses tell the same story?" YEP, FRIDAY DEAD, SUNDAY RISEN. Not only that, they say that something's going to happen...and then it happens exactly the way it was said that it would happen. You see, we have no external evidence that would argue against the Bible's claim to be the word of God. None! So then the real intelligent thing to do is to believe what it says. CONCLUSION: Reasoned response why I believe the Bible So I don't choose to believe the Bible because I was raised that way, or because I tried it and it worked for me. No. I choose to believe the Bible because it is a reliable collection of historical documents that were written down by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses. They report of supernatural events that took place of specific prophecy, and claimed that their writings are devine rather than human in origin. Now remember that I wanted to do 3 things here: Number 1....I wanted to answer this question reasonably. Number 2.....I wanted to make a truthful observation objectively. Number3......I wanted to give you a challenge. Those were my intentions. I've done that, and I used the text given to us by God as it was written down by men who were moved by the Holy Spirit of God. I did not try to be more creative than God, but used what is known as expository (line by line) apologetics (reasonable response). Now that you know that the Bible answers every relevant question because "all scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work"(2 Timothy 3:16-17), then the challenge is this.... If we profess to be true followers of Christ then as true believers one has got to teach the people of God that the Bible has the answers, and teach them how to learn it and explain it by explaining not only what they believe, but why they believe it. Only saying, "I know that I know....that I know... that I believe"....is NOT good enough of an answer. It's not because it doesn't explain why you believe what you profess to believe, and everyone deserves a legitimate answer for why you believe what you profess to believe. The truth will always hold itself up no matter the time, the place, or the culture. And as long as we have the truth, then it will hold us up individually on it's solid foundation as well. Can what you believe hold itself up under ANY scrutiny. If it cant, then how can you reasonably believe that it can hold you up in life and in death?

Look no one's saying you can't catch fish on a bad day. But if you know the bite is going to be bad wouldn't it make more sense to stay on shore and drink instead of dealing with wind burn, whitecaps, no sun, to scratch a few fish just to say you did? Besides i'm sure even "the legendary Al Linder" gets skunked every now and again like anyone else. Or you could believe he's walleye/bass jesus and pay 8.99 for that new hype crankbait or plastic he's promoting. Really when you pay attention this show is just a glorified commercial with the exact information you could find on (name a fishing website)

@6:48, You probably shouldn’t throw the fish into the water like a piece of garbage. Please gently set them back into the water!

I get what your saying but your overreacting. People throw fish into the water all the time and I don’t think it would hurt the fish. Grow up
