1) You could only catch Rotom on Tuesdays in Lost hotel which is located on Route 15 & Route 16.
2) Rarity of Rotom is rare do not get mad,i consider myself very lucky to find it on very first try and most people find it on their first try.
3) Trash bins shake at times in here,time your interaction exactly when it shakes.When you exit Lost hotel the shake of trash bin is 'RESET' then you can go ahead and try again.
4) There is 60% chance that you will find item in Trash bins and 40% chance to find a pokemon leaping out of the trash cans,again do not get mad if you always get items.
5) Dusk balls work best,all others are good but not the best.

WARNING: Do not reset the internal clock of your 3DS just for getting rotom,if you do it the game will recognize that you messed with the internal clock of your 3DS and it will FORBID you from taking part in time based events like occurrence of ROTOM here.
HOW TO SOLVE: If you messed with internal clock of 3DS,simply set it back to original date and wait for 1-2 days until it becomes normal.

Methods:
Soft Reset Method- L+R+Start
- This is the best method to find rotom.
- Save beside trash can and soft reset until you find rotom.
- Save exactly near to it so that you can time your interaction
- This is most reliable & effective method of finding Rotom.
- I did this method before a week of this video and i found a Rotom.
Luck Based Method:
- Inspect every trash can that you can.
- If you don't find rotom,exit Lost hotel and then inspect them again.
- This method is very time taking method
- Make sure you time your interaction with Trash can
Chain Trash Bin Method a.k.a Bullshit Method:
- Source of this method is unreliable and that's why i didn't talk about this in the video.
- It is not sure if this actually works,so don't go for this method until you tried the above two
- There is rumor that if you go to the trash bins from Route 15 to Route 16 LOST HOTEL in a chain on based on the order you see them,you encounter Rotom at your very Last trash bin.
- I think this method is bullshit imo,i tried this method and it never works.
- I don't even know why the hell i'm including this here lol

Rotom is not a Pseudo Legendary. A Pseudo legendary is a Pokemon with a base stat total of exactly 600.

Rotom, even in it's alternative forms, isn't a pseudo-legendary. Its base stats do not reach 600 together. It's alt forms base stats only reach 520, making it a pretty good Pokemon, but not on the same terms as Dragonite, Goodra, etc...

To clerify you can mess with the eternal clock few things. If you change it you can't do timed events for 24 hours. If you changed in the past you can get current Day & time by checking save. I had changed my eternal clock in past for Goodra so speaking from experience.

I was originally using the Soft Reset Method, which wasn't working out very well for me, then as soon as you was talking about the "Luck Base Method", my second bin was a Rotom and like a noob, I forgot that Rotom was part Ghost until I tried False Swipe, so I switched to Lapras, used a single Ice Beam to knock it's health in the red and got a "Critical Capture" with the first Pokeball I threw. Quite happy with that, thanks for the vid :)

Its water/electic type with levitate gives it bunch of immunities and resistances,its one of the BEST pokemon in OU due to great bulk,versatile movepool and decent speed.Trevenant & Gastrodon are best check and counter for a rotom,I hope this info helped! :]

Pheonixmaster1 Sure did help. I still don't see how this means that say.... fire Rotom is useless. I understand Fan Rotom (no need to be flying cause it has levitate) Mow Rotom because you don't need a super effective move against water since you are electric already and same problem with Fridge Rotom. But the way I see it fire Rotom is just as versatile and bulky as was rotom..... I guess it's cause water is its counter and it is much more common than say... grass... lol

Using a Pokemon with the ability 'Static' (such as Pikachu and Electrike) increases your chances of encountering Electric type pokemon in the wild. Hope this helps.

I think having a pokemon with static at the head of the party increases the chances of running into it to pretty much 100%. I'm thinking this because I literally ran into two of them on the same day 0.0 I know that Pokémon has started doing something similar where it seems completely impossible to catch certain pokemon if you haven't put a status effect on them. One instance in my mind is Thundurus &Tornadus since I remember dropping all of them to 1 hp, but still having a hell of a time trying to catch them, and it wasn't until I started using status effects that it even showed them bumping around in the ball.

Oh, seriously? Srry to hear that. If ur pokemon's are on a very high level, next time get lots of Quick ball's or use a move that can crack through GHOST type's and have a pokemon learn "False swipe". Me? I enounter a shiny pokemon the first time on Y and I used a quick ball.

Don't worry guys, I changed the clock for rng and reset back and it still work. Just caught two rotoms almost back to back. When the trash shakes, try to press A during the middle of the shake. And of course keep resetting until u find a pokemon, then move to the next trash. U can catch multiple rotoms in one day if u are lucky like I am.

Err... Rotom is not a Pseudo-Legendary. Pseudos have a total of 600 in stats and have a 3-evolution line. Those are dragonite,salamence,garchomp,tyranitar,metagross and goodra.

It's because the guy in the video is wrong. You can change your clock in the 3DS Pokemon games and get away with it. I have done it with X, Omega Ruby, and Sun, and it has worked every time.

HEY ROTOM TIP! This is a tip on how to get more rotoms faster! Breed your rotom with a Ditto and then it will be a Rotom! If u want to change the form of your rotom then go to Professor Sycamores lab in lumiose city, go to the 2nd floor and walk down a bit and then it will be boxes there, press on them and change the form of your rotom! Hope this helped! :)

After four hours of soft-resetting next to a trashcan, I've given up. Whenever the game decided to let a Pokemon pop out instead of a random item I never fucking asked for, it was a Trubbish. At this point, I've concluded that my game is self-aware and is actively preventing me from encountering a Rotom. Super.

couple things here. Rotom is not a pseudo legendary by any part of the definition. (3 stage evolution, 1,250,000 experience, stat total of 600) Second the encounter rate is very high as long as you try for him on tuesdays without messing with the internal clock a day or two prior to the attempt. Personally out of the 3 of the 5 cans that were shaking I encountered 2 on my first attempt. Did a bit of experimenting with this and saved just outside of the trash can and reset after every pokemon battle I got out of it. Did 22 battles and got a rotom 14 times and then said "yeah this thing is definitely not rare". I'd say it's 60% encounter rate on tuesdays

I realized that I have been using the wrong time and date for my internal clock for a while now, possibly even since before I got x and y. Because of this, I changed the date and time to the proper settings midway through the playthrough. Will it still work, even though I changed it midway through the playthrough?
