Thank you Dutch. I can tell you are authentic Pennsylvanian by the way you pronounce "bury"!

I’m glad I found this video. Dutchware hammocks arrive short on instructions and trying to use the included Whoopi Hooks I kept winding up with my butt on the ground when getting in my hammock.

Really wish I'd seen this before I made whoopies. I've inverted a few 😬 and need to make a new set now. Beads are a must!

these things work wonderful. I think there is some wax or something similar on them. they really lock in. you gotta massage it a little to make adjustments or take it down. such a simple system. strong too from my experience

Does extreme cold or very wet weather affect the grip on your whoopie slings? I just bought a pair of yours and just wondered before my first use in the field.

All this time I have been using a hammock with a woopie slings and this is the first time I knew what the bead was for. Now I'm like, "Duh."

Imo there is a huge difference between one rope tangled in itself and two. in the first case, the loop simultaneously "pulls" itself and the part that tightens outside. in the case of two ropes, I was not able to achieve a satisfactory effect. only when the length of the braid was about 20 inches, which is a bit too long :) Perhaps the problem is the rope itself - I have dyneema that is "slippery" to the touch. What type of dyneema would you recommend for a two-rope solution? It's so good that you don't need twice as much rope to move the hammock :) Regards - great equipment, by the way :)

How do you tighten when the whoopee is under tension, like the hammock is up and you lay in it and then find it is too low?
@RicMor2003 жыл бұрын
You don't. You have to get out of the hammock to make the proper adjustment. You weight is what gives tension to the whoopie and therefore makes it lock into position. I actually don't know of any suspension that you can adjust from inside the hammock. I guess you could try installing a fancy pulley system, but how practical would that be?

Okay. But what is it used for?

Per Simons rope the BRUMMEL cuts 30% of the strength . As stated in the 1st paragraph of there splicing book a plain locked STICHED splice is used to determine MBS for it doesn't reduce MBS ( sample brakes mid run when properly spliced instead of breaking in/ at the splice
