You break everything down really well and have great logic behind why we should do things certain ways. This was a really great video!

Can you tell me where you got the clips to hold your Bristol board? They seemed like the answer to my prayers. Thanks so much.

Amazon! I searched for backdrop brackets. Much better than propping them up! a.co/d/iEOZ5XJ

I took a video with my Nikon Coolpix 4100 camera but it didn't turn out even though I had it on a tri-pod, so I need to learn a lot more. I have no idea where sound came from because the room was silent. Also I did not know how to get the video upright instead of sideways. I can take great still photos but don't know how to make the video or how to get it on Etsy. I don't have a cell phone, so maybe I have to get one?

I wanted to know if the video should be product specific or generic. Thank you for all the info.
@TypeNineStudio Жыл бұрын
Absolutely product specific! Since they can see it before even clicking on the listing, it'd be distracting to have a generic video that's not the actual product.

I know this is a year old, but I'm just now finding you. I've been relentlessly trying to find out more about making videos for Etsy listings, but I make digital patterns and not physical products. Would you happen to have any ideas for videos that would suit this category?
@placidworld2 жыл бұрын
Yeyy! Thank you so much, Abby! 🥳 Everything you mentioned was on point and inspiring:) I sell digital items and now I revisited an idea on how to optimize my videos to make the items look more.. touchable... 👻 Cheers, - Maya

My etsy site is all POD, i have over 100 listings average of $25 price point. It's going to cost me big time to order and pay for samples of all my products just to shoot a video. What's the alternative, can't find mockup video that are my actual product, just kind of "close but not really" category
@TypeNineStudio Жыл бұрын
Printful has videos of the actual blanks that could work - with some text added to clarify like "printed on high quality xyz brand t-shirts". I also found this tutorial kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWGui2BrjMaZh5I that shows how to use photo mockups for a video. The motion is key, if it's just a static slideshow it's not grabbing attention.

How do you feel about the “explore feed” on the new Etsy app? Just another thing to post to😫 but I’m wondering what the conversion rate will be🤔
@TypeNineStudio2 жыл бұрын
I don't see that on the new app? There was the "shop updates" thing you could do on the old one, you could post a photo and tag a listing and it would be posted to the bottom of your shop page. I didn't see really any results from that, and I don't think they get posted to the buyer's "updates" like it does when you have a sale or new item.
@lovelather90122 жыл бұрын
@@TypeNineStudio yeah! On my app I just scroll down a little bit and it always says “view more about explore”. They have different challenge hashtags a couple times a month.

I was wondering if you’ve heard of the Tedooo app? I just had a crafter friend who also has an Etsy talk about it and it doesn’t look like many people know about it yet. But it sounds appealing because there aren’t fees. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on it!

Thanks for the tips! I find Filmora Pro to be a straight forward editing software that's not too expensive and has a ton of features.
@TypeNineStudio Жыл бұрын
Yep I use Filmora Pro for my videos here, and Reels/TikToks that I don't record in the app. I've heard DaVinci Resolve is a good free alternative but haven't used it personally.

I do print on demand, so I don't have any stock to actually show. I have the mockups from the POD company, and that's about it. Any suggestions on what I can do for a listing video? I've just been doing slideshows of mockups of the product.
@TypeNineStudio Жыл бұрын
I've seen a few shops that have video mockups that look super realistic - though I believe they paid someone on Fiverr or something like that. There's also the option to order one of each type of product (like one tshirt, one hoodie, etc) and show that in the video, but have text to explain it's a sample.
@danielsmith2318 Жыл бұрын
your expenses for your products are lower then other niches since its POD, why cant you just buy them and take pictures and show off the product in a video?

Beginner question - how do you put a watermark on a photo?
@TypeNineStudio Жыл бұрын
In pretty much any photo editing software (even if you use your phone and "edit" the photo from your gallery) you can add text to a photo. Or you can overlay your logo on top of the photo as long as it has a transparent background. If you already have a photo editing app or software (I use canva and they have a free version) there are tutorials for adding a watermark - either within the app or on KZbin!

can you upload a 4K video made from a GOPRO camera.
@TypeNineStudio2 жыл бұрын
As long as the file is less than 100MB. My videos are around 24MB for 10-12 seconds at 1080p, so it's possible to do 4k you just may have to lower the frame rate.

I find the Blue Etsy app washes out my videos, so I still upload from my laptop too. I hope they fix that because it would be awesome to donor all from my phone

‘Cheeto-dust’….OMG…😂 Almost tempting to do this and read reviews…lol. UPDATE: So, this old mom/cat lady had to run errands, but your video and just down-to-earth, no bull way of putting it all together/straight talk has me logging on to ‘Subscribe’. Appreciate you not doing the Ra-Ra goofy useless stuff, and just getting down to nuts & bolts.
