I wish you touched on the unethical side of this. Now they wish to scan actors to use as background actors for an example forever without consent and compensation. It is disturbing and one of the main points in the American strike.

Yeh, the timing of this video and the actors strike was unfortunate. We had the video mostly finished when the actors strike started picking up. If I had to do it again, I'd definitely include more about it.

If Hollywood chose to use AI, it will lose all its human audience. Just bots, right? 😂 AI can help, but can't replace...

I agree. I like the idea of using AI as a tool to enhance/speed up what you're doing, but not as a replacement.

I might be reading into this AI technology wrong but I'm sorta looking forward to AI to be able for an average person to make a movie or TV show. I know normally in order to create a movie or TV show you need to know important people in the Film industry before you even get a chance to pitch your idea. It would be kinda cool if someone with no Hollywood connections but with a creative mind and a Computer can use AI to bring there TV or movie idea into a reality.

AI movies directed by humans, its that simple. The difference only is that more people having access to AI tools to create their own content to the point that entertainment is becoming more democratized for everyone. So celebrities will be defined by the creator and its AI instead of actors..

AI is set to revolutionize the film industry by enhancing scriptwriting, automating editing processes, and creating realistic visual effects. It also enables personalized content recommendations and more efficient production workflows. As AI technology evolves, it will continue to shape how films are made and experienced.

I can see in 10 year AI will replace actors. Ai is advancing at a astonishing rate. I can see it replacing most jobs that does not require physical labour

You are wrong. It will replace physical labour. How can a robot depuct emotions on screen? Think about it. Ai will take 100 of years to replace actors. And nobody would like to watch an ai movie. Only humans can achieve stardom not ai

This video deosnt touch the Actors strike. The actors were offered to work one day in Hollywood and then the studio scan their faces and then use them to make AI movies forever without any consent to use their likeness in specific projects and without paying the actors a single dime of royalties over that single day of work. This is one of the reasons why Hollywood actors are on strike. They need their contracts to prohibit this abuse of AI.

In my opinion, this is an issue of Hollywood studios abusing workers (actors, support crew, post production,etc) first and AI second. Stronger labor laws and strong union are needed to push these studio execs back.

The problem is what most don’t understand. AI is already on the internet and that’s what is causing the chain reaction. It’s rewriting itself quickly and quietly. People believe it’s their ideas but sadly it’s not.

Why can't AI be taught creativity? Human's creativity is basically a mix of what he saw/heard before. Everything new is based on something already existed. The AI can be taught to be creative - but it's going to be way more creative purely because it can be taught on much bigger subset of data. So yeah, it will eventually replace all the screenwriters.

We are on direct course to an AI entertainment industry, including realistic acting characters. It's inevitable, but... due to our complex human nature, we will always appreciate flesh and bone performances, which will become more unique. The same way today we prefer, and pay more, whole natural foods, rather than fast processed one. 🙂

Whoa. This video is quite a departure from your other stuff. I'm going to guess that the "talking head" format is a little easier to produce because you don't have to go hunting for appropriate clips all the time. I have no opinion either way on what I prefer, except that I want more content. I am all in favour of easier to produce content! I'm not to worried about AI. Everyone thought that we were seeing the end of the world when it became easy to "shop" photos, but that never happened. We just got a bit less trusting of photos. AI is just another tool that can be misused but it wont happen that often.
@FilmStack
@FilmStack Жыл бұрын
Hey! Thanks for commenting 😀 Yeh, this video was a bit different. I've done a video with the "talking head" format in the past, the Wes Anderson video to be specific. We didn't do it with the intention or making it easier to produce videos, although I'm sure it would help in the future (once we get all the tech down, had to rerecord it twice this time because I messed up the audio the first time). We want to make each video better than the last and this was just another idea we had that we thought might work for certain videos. Especially once that are on a topic like this. I would love to know if this was too distracting, if you had any feedback, or just any other thoughts you might have about this style. I totally agree with your take on AI. I'm sure that it will keep evolving and that it's here to stay, but I don't think it's going to be as bad as all the fear mongering is making it out to be (at least I hope not 😬). I've used AI in some tools already and I've never been fully impressed by them, but it might be because I'm a software engineer so I also "somewhat" understand what it's actually doing.

It means nothing to be an actor nowadays, everybody can be on the screen , all you have to do is pull up you phone 🤳 and be seen by millions , it's meaningless, It doesn't have that GLAMOUR and LUXURIOUS UNTOUCHABLE dream it had in past, where a few selected ones were the "once upon a time" GODS of the big green SCREEN . Now , to add insult to injuries your face can be swapped with somebody else just for the sake of wanting to knowing what it would be like to have an other actors playing this particular film 🎥 which is catapulting the cinema industry into a whole other realm of dystopia.

I honestly think it'll be a fad that fades into a useful tool, like GCI. There'll be a spate of films that overuse it, then it'll get formulaic and die down. It has some amazing potential applications, like making historical dramas with realistic character faces, or making gigantic crowds of people that don't walk around like robots. Maybe it could check the dailies for continuity errors, synchronize the lips for dubbed versions... lots of useful applications I can think of. I don't think it's going to be writing the good scripts, or replacing skilled actors, and it's not going to be doing the lighting, sewing the costumes... well, unless it's all just AI created imagery but I honestly don't think it will. I am sure someone will do it, don't get me wrong, but I don't expect the results to be all that good! The first will make a killing, and then people will get bored.

Listen, it could be ANI, ASI or AGI. It doesn't matter. Human beings will always be greedy and selfish. Which is why the strike is happening. Only a small percentage of people will care about manmade art because nowadays THE CHARACTER IS BIGGER THAN THE ACTOR. The end result is bigger than the artist.... NOBODY IS GONNA CARE ABOUT THE ARTIST AS MUCH AS THE CREATION. READY PLAYER ONE is the future.

you got some things technically wrong. AI has been scientifically demonstrated to be creative already. secondly, humans also use existing information to come up with new ideas. fundamentally it is not different. you seem to not understand how it works, which is why you assume that humans somehow come up with ideas in some magical way, when in fact ideas cannot emerge without them learning from existing information
