So, what are numbers of mechanics needed to service all those cars?

A lot! But the way of working has changed for them. It's not the same thing to be a car mechanic today as it was years ago. Complex diagnostic tools and advanced technology now play a huge role, so mechanics need to be skilled in tech as much as traditional repairs. Many modern vehicles are essentially computers on wheels, packed with sensors, software, and electronic systems. This means that, alongside their mechanical skills, today’s mechanics must understand software diagnostics, electronics, and even some programming. It's a much more specialized and tech-focused job than it used to be, requiring continuous learning to keep up with new models and technologies. I believe the software developer profession is going through some similar process of changing.

@ agree, who do you think has higher chance of being replaced by ai first, software engineers or mechanics?
@theSnackableCTO19 күн бұрын
@@valminyaylo9747Oh, good question. I the next two decades it's unlikely that these professions will be replaced entirely. The world is to complex and not standardized enough I think. Additionally to that, the human society has an Instinct of self-preservation 😊 There will be individuals replaced who don't want to put can't keep up with development of technology and raising requirements. Yet the technology can do a lot more, the clients tend to want more for less. This isn't a very positive trend. Very interesting to look at the Burnout problematic in the software space the recent years.

I wonder do I need to use Cursor or is Copilot ok?

Still prefer jetbrains IDEs + Copilot or the integrated AI, because I still want to be in charge. But tbh I need to give Cursor a real try on some point.
