remember when AI promised it would do our laundry and improve our daily lives? Instead we're the slaves doing all the boring stuff and AI gets to do the fun stuff like Art 🙄

Thanks for the video, this talk was very insightful! Special thanks to Adnan, his scripts for Maya saved me many times and made my life a lot easier. This is just my personal opinion, but I think that instead of using analogy for cameras and painters, for example, t's better take a look at what happened with mobile phones. Photography in itself wasn't destroyed but the shift to buying expensive phones with a good camera did level the field quite a lot. The best thing that came out of it is that anyone can take a picture or record a video nowadays. Ultimately, It's how and for what reason people use this technology that will differentiate it from being a curse or a blessing.

Yes absolutely. I agree and I wanted to take out that section but I decided to keep it even though it wasn’t the best analogy.

when people say AI I switch it with the word Devil

I agree, AI and the human brain both reference others to create something. But the difference is that humans need to make a living to survive in a capitalistic society. AI doesn't. It's effectively putting 80% of those referenced artists out of work and on the streets. The artists are involuntarily PARTICIPATING in their own downfall. Its fucked The worst thing about all of this is how exciting the development around AI and technology in general actually is. It could've been so amazing. But like this its just sucking all of the joy out of everything. And I don't even blame AI, I blame the humans who don't care about creating a world where everyone actually has a chance of becoming happy and secure.

I understand the US wanting to remain competitive. But a part of it comes down to developing regulation that allows AI development and protects artists, writers, coders, etc.
@EdgeloopAcademy11 ай бұрын
I don’t think government cares about any of those really.
@mariobros286711 ай бұрын
@@EdgeloopAcademy I agree with you. But that's not my point. My point is about artists advocating for themselves and learning about business. The concept art association has the right idea. They are lobbying in favor of artists. I know its tough fighting tech companies and all the money invested into them (including their own lobbyists). But we have to at least try to set some guardrails.

I dont know, still robbing artist effort to build/train AIs and get profit from it, mmmh still smells bad
@EdgeloopAcademy11 ай бұрын
It is not about smelling bad or good. It is a change that is coming and you have got to prepare for it. Sitting back and just worrying about it will not do anything.
@koguister10 ай бұрын
No body is sitting back just admiring what it is. If we have to adapt we will. But that doesn’t change the point that is just building over others efforts. And even destroying new artist learning process and getting good foundations.
