In the final mission the Lich king used almost all of his remaining power too boost arthas back to full strength (and then some) so that arthas could defeat illidan and then fuse with the lich king. (the opening cinematic of the final level) Also in Wotlk there was the quest stating (from arthas himself) that the closest the fallen paladin had come to death was the duel with illidan.

Johnny McLaurin Blizzard doesn't have to give up on it; half of its peak player base already has, and every few months more leave. Blizzard would be perfectly happy to milk WoW for every penny they can get forever, but the game won't have players forever. However, it did work that way. Before Cataclysm, the game was a direct sequel to Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne, which was an expansion of Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos. That truce was threatened by Admiral Proudmoore who hadn't heard the war was over and attacked the Orcs. Meanwhile, Sylvanas was consolidating her power..

That's a very simplified way of looking at it. The hard part really is getting the top tier gear, stomping someone who is undergeared compared to you is not hard. And something can be hard and still boring, you know, in the way that it doesn't seem engaging enough to get into.

This is pretty accurate of WoW - you spend more time grinding to gain levels than actually playing the game. And the monthly fee is a major turn-off. You know it's bad if an expansion pack's namesake gets tired of it! :D

It takes 4-5 days of play to level a character... let's guess you haven't played anything but the free starter zone or not played it in the past 6 years or so.... The subscription system is CHEAPER than the microtransaction you to death costs of most other games out there when you do a comparison.

To everyone saying that WoW is dying out. Yes, the Sub count is decreasing as time goes on. As a matter of fact I'm in the category of people who don't play the game any more. But I just want to say that even though WoW is slowly dying it still has quite a bit of time left in it. Most fairly successful MMOs don't have nearly as many players as WoW and yet they still run strong for multiple years. WoW has a lot of servers. All they need to do when the population on a server starts to get below an acceptable point (Which I might add will probably take a few years anyway) is merge that server with another one of their servers. By doing that they can easily keep the game going for 10 years or more. That is of course assuming that a MMORPG that is better then WoW in every way doesn't come along and steal their players. Then they might only be able to keep it going for 5 years or so... But that's still half the time the game has been running so far.

That's why the raids have 3 difficulty levels now, and I think that was the right thing to do. There are lots of people who loved the game, but just didn't have time to do the raids, and with MoP they made it so that casual players can do the raids, but the players who do the heroic versions are much higher rewarded, although I heard that they're trying to nerf that in PvP.

Magni Bronzebeard was saddened by the loss of his brother but still trying to lead the dwarves with honor and nobility. Stormwind popped back up after having been destroyed in the First War, or so the story went for those of us who played WC 1: Orcs and Humans. Everything in the original days through Lich King was direct continuation of the story from WC 3, sequel full on. It was new, innovative, and ultimately screwed up by Cata's revamp of the world. That's why it doesn't seem to be a sequel.

Very displeased with the video. Are you talking about the fight at the frozen throne? Arthas was more powerful then he had ever been for that fight and barely survived. The lich king used almost all of his power to restore (and buff) arthas to his full strength for the fight at the base of the frozen throne.
