Last year the betting odds favorite did win, the last time the odds favorite didn’t win was 2016 when Ukraine won from 3rd in the odds. It’s also worth noting that usually the odds favorite wins because you know people see something in the entry even though they is the chance they may not win the televote or jury

@@VenlaKaroliinajury is good because they actually give points to songs that sing good not songs with the best performance. And a lot of people vote Israel or Ukraine without even watching just because they like the country not the song. So the jury already gives the best singers an advantage

Tbh I think the RAI leak regarding the Semi televotes screwed the odds up. Ironically Switzerland was leading the odds prior to the rehersals. If they would have kept that it would have been more accurate

Yeah, having concrete evidence that a Israel may have won the semi (which they did) by a massive margin really screwed the chances of every other qualifier from semi 2. Anyone who didnt want Israel to win would vote a country in semi 1 or the big 5 to compete, not semi 2. I suspect the most of the televote results for most countries in semi 2 are lower than they would be without the leak. For a non Israel entry in semi 2 to have won after that would have been through a massive jury push like with Nemo.

After almost 50 years of watching Eurovision and being a huge fan till about 2013..... Watching was horrendous in every way. The only thing that made our night was Croatia not winning.... Israel and the public vote and oliie getting a well deserved nil points. We're hoping eurovision will be cancelled ASAP. The entertainment value ended years ago. It's a disgrace now. Would have preferred Croatia as well, and had France as my second favorite. But noone can take this win away from Nemo, his performance gave me goosebumps!
