I'm an overseas Chinese. Visited China many times in recent years & proud of the Chinese Govt. Visited Yunnan's many minority groups, they are given land and they still practise their own culture & speak their own local dialects besides Chinese. We were entertained by their unique culture shows & food. All visitors are offered a type of rice wine which we sipped through a thin hollow bamboo stem.

This is what the actual democracy is about, and how it works. At the end of the day , the reality is that US Politicians cared more for the financial sponsors who funded their political campaign . The sponsors are the real bosses of these politicians. The government policies are such that they skew towards helping the financial sponsors in return for their favour. Tough and sincere leaders are hard to come by. Chances people will condemn him for his tough policies, remember LKY of Singapore? He was said to be all things to many critics but he strived on to build and to lay down the foundation for a smallish back water island into a vibrant nation! Of course, in the case of China, such progress would frighten many people outside China since in their mind China had been an improvised society as far as modern memory could remember.
