I like this song played by Jim Europe’s military band. I once read that Europe’s records are at best stiff ragtime music or marching band music but not Down On The Farm. Europe’s band really gets swinging on that one. In fact Europe’s band plays more hot swinging jazz on their record of Down On The Farm than any ODJB record I have heard from that time.

Of course, the Original Dixieland Jazz Band had performed the first-ever jazz in London on April 7. Sounds like the man here had heard their drummer.
