What is the difference between a sending vs a receiving Yagi antenna? Thanks I need to send a fiber optic sourced signal 1,000 feet to my barn for security cameras. Should I send or receive with a Yagi?

I would love to see a breakdown of the design of the dipole part of the Yagi and also how you would calculate the lengths, etc, say for certain bands like 2m or 70cm. I also wonder about the insulators and such. I'm saying this because I would eventually like to toy around with making my own (lots of discarded old TV antennas out there that could be repurposed). Thanks.

You got your wish. I'll be releasing a video with in the next two weeks on how to design a Yagi Antenna. This would be a total design showing how to calculate the length of the elements, spacing between elements etc. This video would be released before the end of October.
