Great setup info even if not using VP toolkit! Thanks! One quick question: Where did you get the static mesh for the little vive tracker you dropped into your scene?🤔

Hi Dave, Glad our video was helpful! I'm not too sure anymore but if you look for "vive tracker FBX" you should be able to find something that works for you. Let us know if there is anything else we can help with!

Couple of questions: Your diagram shows 5 base stations, I assume not all are active at the same time? Or does Mars work with more than 4 base stations? Is it stiill possible to use the evaluate Livelink frame blueprint method with Mars? (We've been using that to switch between cameras with their own trackers, as I couldn't find a way to switch the target in the Livelink component) Would you say Mars is better in terms of tracking performance than the old Vive system, or just more convenient? (Genlock is not something we'll be using in the foreseeable future) Thanks for your great work!

Hey Alexander, great questions! Yes we have 5 Basestations setup but generally only have 3 on at a time. We choose the ones that have the best view of our camera filming area and then with the Vive mars its very easy to reset the tracking/root after Basestations movement or changes. Yeah the new Vive Mars comes in as a basic Livelink Cine Camera role so you can do pretty much whatever you’d like with that data. The Mars seems to a good amount more reliable then the original Vive series with less random drop outs but it also has a system for smoothing the data when not moving so that helps with small amounts of jitter. Our favorite part about the system is just the easy of use/setup and having more flexibility with how the data is distributed on a network, along with its recalibration features. The only real downer is just that the useable tracking area is really the same (10mx10m) since it uses the same basestations/technologies.

nice video Hey where did you purchase the mars was from a 3d party or direct
@vptoolkit Жыл бұрын
We are development partners with Vive Mars so we got ours directly through them. Is there a reason you have found to go one way or another? Very interested to hear so we can make sure to recommend correctly. I can connect you with a third party and or directly with Vive if you need too.

Let me ask you a question. What version of UE is used in this video? Also, is it possible to use VIVE MARS with UE5.3?
@vptoolkit11 ай бұрын
This video I believe was 5.1 and yes the Vive Mars works perfectly fine in 5.3. We have also released the latest update to our Unreal Plugin for 5.3.

Hi , VP . How to connect the LED wall to the render node out put?
@vptoolkit6 ай бұрын
Hey Thanks for reaching out! We generally use a DisplayPort to HDMI converter to connect Render node outputs (A6000 GPU) to a Led Wall Processor. You have to make sure that this cabling can handle high bandwidth in order to not limit the color bit depth. We often use Fiber HDMI cables if the led wall processor and Render node will be further then 20’ from each other. Please let us know if you need more guidance on this! We can setup a call to help you with your system.

Does anybody know what to do when only 1 rover & tracker turns white and blue and the other rover kees pulsing grey on the Mars interface? During the camera calibration phase, the tracker + rover on the calibration board shows up on the Mars, but the other one doesn’t (keeps pulsing grey)
@vptoolkit Жыл бұрын
Haven’t ran into this yet with the Mars, but I’d assume it has a conflicting channel issue. So figuring out how to reset the channel on that Basestation might be a good first step. Let me know how it goes.
