George I've been subscribed to your HTGPhoto channel when you 1st announced the move. This tutorial was great, I never knew you could do the gradient tool like that on a mask... Thank You! Google needs a Love button!

Thanks Rich! I figure I will be losing a couple of hundred dollars each month from KZbin ad revenue due to this move but that will come back in a few months as the channel gets more views.

Great tutorial - thank you. Am I right in saying you can't seem to edit the photo once you've applied a mask?
@HTGGeorge9 ай бұрын
Yes you can edit the photo. Just double click on the photo side thumbnail for the layer and edit all you want. The layer mask just shows or hides content, it doesn't affect the photo layer in any other manner.

Dear George, about the Photoshop elements , the newest version 2024, the remove tools. Can you make a clip about that? Or perhaps you have somewhere a clip. I think removing objects in elements is still difficult and not very accurate when you compare it with PS. Far more easy and better. best regards,

Hi, basically everything is easier and better in Adobe Photoshop. Elements is great for hobbyists, people who are new to image editing, and people who don't want subscription pricing. I teach how to use both programs but my Elements videos are more popular. All of my new PSE videos are now going up on my other channel here: www.youtube.com/@HTGPhoto. I just did a video on removing people from a background using just selections and the clone stamp tool, kzbin.info/www/bejne/moeWfoSej9Saes0si=q0YBzI2RmiU_6hd8

Are you using like an old version of the Photoshop Display? Mine looks totally different??
@HTGGeorge11 ай бұрын
This is Photoshop Elements, not Adobe Photoshop. Both are from Adobe, both run simiilary, but they are different programs with different looks. Between the two Adobe Photoshop is much better and is what I use everyday for my own work. Photoshop Elements is easier to use and is good for lots of stuff, just not as good as Adobe Photoshop. But the basic concepts in this video apply to both programs, even if the specifics are different. One of the key differences is that Photoshop Elements can only work with Raster layer masks, Adobe Photoshop can use both Raster and Vector layer masks and can even have one of each on the same layer.

And one more thing, if you are using the new Photoshop Elements 2024 Adobe updated the look of the interface for 2024. I will be sticking with the earlier version with the older interface for at least the next year or so since most people aren't upgrading to 2024. Runs the same, just looks different.
