I can hear the hearts of professionally trained pianists breaking at "you don't need theory or history" to compose... But a good musician should know these things. Learning chord progressions and scales is part of theory.
@DrGargani3 жыл бұрын
they certainly should! I can't imagine anything automatically playing chords for me, it would take all the fun out of creating music....of course, one doesn't have to use those features, they could record in a linear fashion and play the chords themselves with their master keyboard....all of the current Workstation keyboards have automatic chord functions, of which I also ignore.

Cubase is my go-to program. I have a lot of new producers asking me how to do things when crafting trap beats like 40 from ovo's underwater effect. I use bit crusher, dual filter, and a little reverb. Awareness is one of the many keys to success. It'd be a good tutorial for the music community.

The Camera shooting is better with the angles, So we can follow you better and not with cut film. its always showing what you are doing. real time. So we can follow your hand as I would say. better telling of description that way. by far , better. Sure you can say what it can do. But your not really seeing what your clicking on or follow so closely step by step as how you did this vid. much better my man. Keep this way and do more of it. So people can really see what your clicking on. .You can go even further with showing your keyboard as well and show all your tricks on the keyboard. But that is for the real intense Video's eh? But how you changed the camera to show exactly what you should click on and what to expect in the response to change it back and forth shows us allot .Well Done!!

Hello I hope you can help me with a question. I'm using Cubase 12 and trying to use the Score Editor. I have a track with 2 MIDI inserts. Chorder and Arpache 5. I made a basic sequence of chords with 1 note from chorder and modified it to a single note melody with Arpache and I need score editor to display the melody made with Arpache 5.When I open Score Editor I can't seem to find the sequence of individual notes made with Arpache 5. Is there a way to read the MIDI inserts changes with Score Editor? I can't seem to find any info. Thanks a lot.

Regarding Layers on a Pad.... I cannot get basic settings like Vol/Pan/Coarse/Fine to be modified independently on the Pad. When I set the Mode to Layer, I could 'SEL' each pad and modify only some attributes independently... for example, on Pitch tab, I could use the PItch shaper and set the levels independently and some knobs are independent, but if I use Coarse/Fine knobs, it is applied to both layers. the Random, Vel et al knobs. could all be tweaked independently. Just seems odd that my Vol/Pan/Coarse/Fine could only be applied to the entire pad? Thank you!

Well, you can assemble a song with Cubase... not the same as writing music. I do see how a SONGWRITER could mess around with this for some ideas once in a while. I bought Cubase recently because it's the best for orchestral scoring. This is a little perk I guess. Granted, Dom is GOOD at doing this, I've seen other vids, great teacher.

I met a student at Linkdin which I unfortunately lost in contact with that uses cubebase. I am using Logic pro at the school; however, my sound driver in my Mac OS is broken right now, so I have been considering about switching from Logic Pro to another DAW. My boss gave me FL Studio, my school gave me Ableton Live lite, but I am slowly transitioning to Sonar. Would Cubebase, Reaper, or Studio One be worth the switch?

Thanks for this video! The way you write this tune in Cubase is not the way I write music. I just want to transfer the song I've performed in my Tascam 24 with my recorded Guitar Performance and Vocal Performance into Cubase, then with Spitfire Audio add my own arrangements using "ALBION ONE orchestra, BBC Symphony, & ABBEY Road Orchestra" Can I not use CUBASE 11 Pro as an extension of my Tascam 24 interface mixer? I need CUBASE 11 Pro to become an extension of my analog/digital mixer to record the song I've worked out in advance with my vocal & guitar recorded performance. Then add my own arrangements using "SpitFire Audio's" as stated above, "ALBION ONE Orchestra", BBC Symphony, and "ABBEY Road Orchestra". I never go to the software for Chords, because the Chords are already recorded FIRST through my prerecorded GUITAR performance. What are your thoughts on using DAW/Software CUBASE 11 PRO in this manner?

at the top bar in the arranger view where you also have the mouse tools and the quantization options you cna right click on an empty space and activate the visibility for the colour-menue. my personal favourite trick to always get beautifully coloured tracks automatically is to go into the preferences-menue, to event display / tracks, then in auto track color mode choose "use previous track color +1"

Hi Dom. I'm one of your avid viewers of your KZbin uploads on Yamaha Montage and MODX. I think I have found the right person to answer my problem since you are a product specialist of Steinberg. I've bought my yamaha montage 6 last October 2018 here in the Philippines. I don't have a problem with the keyboard but on the CUBASE AI 9.5 which is a bundle of the said unit. I religiously followed the instructions on how to download and install the program. In short, it was successfully installed, but the e-licenser is cannot be activated. A dialogue box has pop up and said that the code is already been USED. How come since this is a brand new one? So the program redirected me to request another code for the e-licenser. I have followed again the instructions of de-installation and re-installation..... and still I got the same result. I've even made a contact with the supplier but they can't help me. What am I going to do now? Please help and I'm very much appreciating it. More power and God bless. Thanks.

can I import the individual string parts into Cubase from a music writing program like Finale or Musescore? I compose and arrange for high school level orchestras(my own right now) and need to get industry standard sounds for my work. I am going to invest in Kontact 6 for starters as well, will I need to get the Mac Pro to run all this?

Hello, you can import them as a MIDI file or music XML. You don't need to get Kontakt you can just use the included HALion Sonic SE and if you want a great sounding orchestral library you can use Iconica: www.steinberg.net/en/products/vst/iconica/sections_and_players.html
