If I'm ever in Lviv I'll be sure to visit the Vienna Coffee House and the House of Scientists and maybe that place with the ballet room if i can figure out what it is called.

10:21 "Patriae Decori Civibus Educandis" the Latin inscription on the building means: "Educated citizens - ornament (pride) of the Motherland"

NIck, thanks for keeping the camera off of Johnny while he eats like a 4 year old. LOL. I give him a lot of crap about it on his channel, if he reads my comments, he surely hates me. But I do like him and his channel. Glad to have another American in Ukraine logging his travels. I love these trips to the Lviv. I spent a week there in 2019. Stayed right there in a flat a couple doors down from the 'secret' restaurant. Great location, but noisy as hell with all the tourists and trolley cars. The partying went on until dawn back then. I really l want to come back soon.

Hahahaha! Johnny is a great guy! Yeah Lviv is great! I can imagine before the curfew staying the in the center was super noisy. Hopefully soon you will be able to visit again! Thanks for watching and commenting! Cheers!

Nice tour of Lviv. I loved seeing the Lviv campus building of the University of Ukraine. The board game cafe was good to see. I wish they were more common in my area as I am a traditional game enthusiast, especially dominos, cards and jigsaw puzzles. It was good to meet and chat with the Indian student, too. Stay well and enjoy your travels.

Thanks Rob! Glad you enjoyed! I do wish Americans spend more time doing board and card games. It's a good past time. Cheers!

Hey your friend plays MTG? That's cool. I'm really good online (MTGO). Maybe we'll play some time. Did you know they have LOTR card sets now?
@wayfarernick Жыл бұрын
Well I'm admittedly no expert haha it was more Johnny's idea but it was fun to play

@@wayfarernickActually, I haven't logged in in a few years and played regularly about 10 years ago, lol. So I would be rusty now but it's like riding a bike, it would all come right back.

cool video turned out, Lviv is cool, but I like Kyiv more, because it is bigger and more modern. In Lviv, narrow streets are like in some kind of Vienna or Prague, large avenues are still cool) but restaurants in Lviv have a twist. Nick, is it me or do you speak Russian a little?
@wayfarernick Жыл бұрын
I also prefer Kyiv in general but I really do enjoy the architecture and the vibe of Lviv (Vienna and Prague too). I do speak Russian, and I can understand generally what's going on in Ukrainian but I'm working to improve my Ukrainian 💪🏻 thanks for watching and commenting!

you have some kind of unusual charisma, so I'll ask two more questions: where did you learn to speak Russian and in what city were you born? I am always pleasantly surprised by people like you and Johnny, who seem to love Ukraine, I always want to understand the secret of this love, because Ukraine is probably not the best country in the world, but there is probably something special about it) this view from the outside almost always unique since the western world is so different)

@@ИванМ-з6е Well I'm self taught so to say. My family has roots in eastern Ukraine and southern Russia so I was always interested in learning about this part of the world. I grew up Tacoma, Washington. I don't know exactly why but I immediately felt right at home in Ukraine and ever since traveling here for the first time I've always had a soft spot for Ukraine and before the war Russia too, but now after everything they've done I don't feel this way anymore. Which is part of the reason I feel so compelled to stand with Ukraine.

I will say one thing for sure - anyone who learns Russian or Ukrainian from scratch is a real hero) it seems to me that compared to English it is much more difficult, but in the Slavic languages there is some kind of special soulfulness. Thank you for your support, foreign bloggers are doing super support for Ukraine)

@@ИванМ-з6е Hahaha it is a real challenge learning from scratch, but also super rewarding. I would agree there is a certain soulfulness in Slavic languages and I'm very happy that I can at least communicate a bit in them. Cheers! Thanks for watching and look forward to hearing from you again!
