When I listen to these videos I'm often brought to tears, I think this is the pain of healing my broken outlook on life. I use to wake up every morning just wanting to give up and die, now I wake up knowing that everything outside of me comes from within. The choices I make right now determine how my day will go, I can choose to believe that the universe is conspiring against me or I can see that I am the universe and my perception of events determines my destiny. Look up, look forward and remember that every day is beautiful in it's own unique way.

Read the same story from Keith Harrell’s book Attitude Is Everything. An inspiring story but impractical. Yes, our attitude is necessary to have a great life, but having a positive attitude in the wrong situation or circumstance proves counterproductive. Sometimes our depression is a message or signal to help us navigate the right path. Like Jim Carey once said being depressed is your body wanting a “deep rest” or say a break from the social role you have been playing that is not the real you. LikeRobert Green also said “our unhappiness are mostly because we are not being our true self”. So a positive attitude only becomes important when you have sufficient level of self awareness, who you are and where you’re going, or else your positive attitude would do no good!

Yes John, our thoughts are very important. In a best case life, our subconscious thoughts and our conscious thoughts and our words and actions are all aligned. For a lot of people, this isn’t the case, and some work very hard to create words and actions that move them into a better thought process. So that their actions are leading their thoughts in those cases. it’s a complex area as you know, I’d like to have understood much more much sooner, as it may have helped me enormously.

One must be cautious with this. Causal reasons and intentional reasons are very different. When one makes the comment, "everything happens for a reason" I suspect they are thinking of intentional reasons and trying to find some sort of lesson. This may rarely be the case.

WOW! What a true moment of Synchronicity, Kismet, Destiny etc. etc. here for me at THIS moment, today, now. I was feeling stressed about a recurring situation that I'm involved in, and THIS message pops up in my KZbin feed. What IMMEDIATELY held my attention though is that at the beginning of this "Story of Jerry" the photo on screen IS SET EXACTLY IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD OF 20 YEARS IN NYC!!! BLOWN AWAY cause i'm currently in the Midwest for 7 years now dealing with what seems like family drama after drama! Fluke? Accident? Coin-ki-dinky coincidence receiving this? Certainly NOT!
