Yes! Same situation but different ways of seeing things. Poor kids....how can they be able to even handle this. But the one who really handles life sanely are the most sensitive ones. ❤️

I think there is more to what we judge. We all have different personalities and respond differently. Also who is to say the path we are suppose to walk in this life, who here knows the lesson our souls are here to learn. And in this story where were the people in the boys life seeing one son being negatively effected by his father. Was there No one to help him rise above. Or was he judged the bad son and no one tried to guide him in a positive way.

*I also grew up with lot of difficulties. Nobody in my family is educated except me. Nobody went to university except me. I never wanted to be like them. My parents and siblings are pessimistic, fighting with each other always, blaming to each other always. Yes I continued my education in such a hostile environment because I had no option to go anywhere but live with them. I started finding opportunities. I got many scholarships. I topped in my district. I topped in my economics department. I did MBA and secured a job. I left job and started preparing for civil service exam and I qualified the exam. Now I am a deputy collector in Bihar, India. Since I was watching all these hostile behaviour in my family I suffered a lot with mental and physical issues. I went to doctors and got treatment and I'm now healthy, wealthy and having a loving, descent and well behaved husband. This is all because I never stopped dreaming of a life that I wanted to live. Now we are planning to have a child. We are dreaming to set up our own business and factories to create jobs for the jobless. Since me and my husband both are MBA and experienced in corporate life,we both are very good at business therefore we will be helping our local people with permission of my government to establish Micro small and medium scale enterprises.* *I'm always greatful to Almighty and I feed the hungry people always. I never chose illegal ways of getting success. I never went to illegitimate path. I always believe that Almighty wants me to strong this is why I faced a lot of challenges in my early life. I have got such such a beautiful family after getting married that is totally opposite of my parents. My father in law is a doctor and he treats patients free many times. He feeds the hungry people. He helped many people in the time of pandemic and lockdown. My life is very beautiful and I'm the most happiest person on the planet earth. I'm enjoying and living my beautiful life with my beloved husband. I'm thankful for all the blessings around me. I'm surrounded with right and good people. I'm surrounded with prosperity, abundance and peace. I get respect in society and I respect others. I live in large, spacious, beautiful, peaceful home with endless happiness. I always welcome happiness, goodness and prosperity. I'm now a wealthy woman. I'm a kind hearted and soft spoken person. Thank you for reading my comment. I wish you all the best in your life, career and relationship. Thank you for all the blessings.*

Behavior can be unlearned, esp. in adulthood when one has to accept full responsibility for what you think, say, and do. If you, as a child, saw deception in a parent and knew it was wrong, you can choose right then and there NOT to lie. Parents were good role models in the sense that they showed you what NOT to do in life. In all things be grateful.🙏

As a child I had a father who was a drunk and a gambler, he was also a very angry man, he was also physically and verbally abusive. I remember thinking once, I would love to se him kiss my mother. My mother looked and was, worn out. I swore never to be like him..forward a few years, I myself became a heavy drinker, short tempered and could sometimes be verbally abusive to my two sons. Then one day I realised, I had become what I swore I would never be...I had become, in part, like my father.That was when my life changed. I stopped drinking. I also realised that the choices I had made was the problem. No one else but me was to blame for my situation. To cut a long story short, I am 70, now, and for most of my adult life, I have served others. I was selfish, that also I left behind. I am far from perfect, no one ever is..I do have my faults..but I know what they are, knowing that, I can change them also. You are never to old to learn.

I had a wife and young child(and one on the way) in 2015. We owned a small bare property basically bought with tax money 'refunds,' yet still owed about another $12k on it. We saved up the 2015 tax money and were going to build a small 800 sq ft home on it and I was going to finish it out. I paid the builder half down(almost $5k) of our only saved funds at the time, close to living paycheck to paycheck yet with no debt besides the property. I was going to pay the other half with a credit card and finish up the basic needs of the house on it and then pay it all off. Perfect plan, right? Well the literal day before the builder was supposed to start I called him to make sure plans were in order since I had to prepare the site. I got a voicemail message saying to contact his lawyer as he's filing for bankruptcy. Bankruptcy with my money! Bankrupt with my last $5k! No house built, no nothing. No money to even get another apartment(since we had confirmed we were going to move). That was it. I blamed myself for not seeing the preliminary signs. I blamed myself even though I'm not the one who went bankrupt. I blamed myself so I could take responsibility and fix the problem rather than just blame the builder. We scrambled to get another apartment to work with us and wait on a payment for last month's rent. We sold the property to get some of our money back out. I started going to work 6-7 days a week for a year and we built up enough to buy another property with a small house on it. Once in the house I continued working 50-60 hours/week and built up an emergency fund(which was a great aid during this pandemic). We started investing in the market and just this last May hit a huge milestone positive net worth! It took about 2 years to recover from my mistake and another 2 to put a monetary foundation under my family. But we did it. We started a small business too in 2019. We did it because of the horrible thing that threw our lives into chaos back in 2015. We chose. So can you! This video is dead on---how do you look at your problems? As opportunities/challenges to grow? Or just events that happen to you to beat you down?

I learnt that problems are the necessary components of our life. It is what makes our life complete. But our perspective matters. If we have a positive attitude towards our problems, definitely we will end up as a VICTOR; or else our life will be like that of a VICTIM. The choice is ours; whether to end up like a victim or like a warrior. It does not matter what happens to us.. It only matters what meaning we give to what happens to us.. Make correct choices..

This is really really true!! I have experienced this, I grew up listening, girls are only made to serve mans and their families, they have no right to live... Even when I used to score good in my exams, I saw their weird faces saying,"Whatever u do, at the end of the day, u r a women"...and it used to hit me so hard!!! But then I decided, I will not be ever ever and ever have useless, baseless thinking in my life, I decided that "Time" will gonna answer them... I aspire to become the best version of myself, no matter how many times and how negative things I see and listen in my life, I would do I really want to!!!

One thing that has baffled many psychologists especially the ones that analyze criminal behavior. If there were children that were part of psychological or physical abuse. They wonder why some children turned out bad and why others didn't. Especially if they part of the same household or if the went through something similar in another household. Everyone has choices to make in one's life by carrying your own load. Or you can go through life feeling sorry for yourself by always blaming others. We all have choices to make in life and it's up to us to make the right ones.

Got an observation to share n question to ask. 1. Yes it's difficult and heart wrenching for the kids to watch their dad behave the way he did. 2. But then the wife n kids n other family shud n cud ve "helped" the dad to come out of the chronic drinking ??? Often times I feel that we leave a family member to "Repair themselves on their own" , "to fend on their own" . If that is the case then what is a family ?? Here the other family members cud have helped the dad to get treatment for his drinking problem. That cud ve saved the family , kind of support each other n set an example for young kids . Helping the dad find cure for his drinking and abusing ways ....... wud have impacted the kids a million times more then the lessons they learnt due to abusive dad.
@joebloggs6194 жыл бұрын
Good intentions but easier said than done when you are caught up as part of a dysfunctional family where addiction rules. You have to ask why people get attracted to such addictive partners. It is often because, though they may not do drugs or alcohol etc themselves, their own depressive, obsessive compulsive nature woul have drawn them to such addictive types as alcoholics, drug addicts, sex addicts etc. The worse the addict gets, the more depressed their partner gets, to the point where they end up paralyzed by their depression, as happens with this personality type, often.They just cannot go anymore. Inert. Like dead. Unable to help themselves, let alone anybody else, like their out of control kids or drunken etc partner. It's a downward spiral that gets worse over yime, without external, uninvolved, emotionally detached intervention and it drags other people fown with it. Into a big black hole. The external intervention, by force if necessary, is vital to break this downward destructive spiral and force the addict to get help eg if Police get involved and he is charged, the court can order they un dergo compulsory therapy for their anger, PTSD which often causes addictive violent behaviourds, alcohol, drugs etc abuse or face long jail terms. It's not easy. And people cannot do it alone. They need intervention. Once the addict is away, getting rehabbed, the other depleted family members can start to recover. The thing with drugs and alcohol addiction is that it is not just the addict who needs therapy. Those around them are also affected by the drugs or alcohol and will need help and therapy to recover from it.I have seen some useful "work books" that the kids or spouses of alcoholicscan do exercises from, like self help, to recover from such abuse privately, if it is too traumatic yo see a therapist about getting help. If you do the tasks required, they do help people. But you have really got to want to get over it all. Be very determined. And just do it. Crazy as it seems. Some of the best such self help therapy books have been written by people who were victims of abusive alcoholic or drug addicted parents themselves and suffered much. To They know what they're talking about from personalexperience.

I can blame everything surrounded me and become the first brother, or I can learn from the tough situation and go in a different direction as the second brother did. Umm, It's easy. I pick the second choice and starting from now. Thanks for the lesson! 🙏
