Across the planet, humans eat on average between 1 and 2.7 kilograms of food a day, and every last scrap makes its way through the digestive system. Comprised of ten organs covering nine meters, this is one of the most complicated systems in the body. Emma Bryce explains how the different parts of the digestive system work to transform your food into the nutrients and energy that keep you alive.

This should be essential learning given that when we went through school in the 90’s/2000’s, we were taught that liquids go through the small intestine and solids go through the large intestine... how misinforming.

@@flyingfox1099 Well, consider that it might take someone an hour to cover the same material if they don’t have it laid out as efficiently as it is in this video. Definitely, however, they should review what they learned with flash cards or perhaps write a half page summary, otherwise they’ll probably have learners illusion (where they think they’ve learned it because they understood the video, but don’t actually remember the precise information).

Excellent production. Not only clear, the music is perfect accompaniment. The narrative though shortchanged the liver in the process. Besides stimulating the production of bile, it detoxifies and metabolizes everything you ingest.
