I have another angle. I am a small farmer that raises and processes my own pork and beef. I’d like to do it for other people local to me that is welcome to inspect my facility and make their own judgment on to whether they want to buy from me but to government regulations in place for me to get started and do it “legally” would cost more than my first 2 years of profit. So government is also in the way of small farmers getting into the game.

We need to take back control of what and how we eat; processed foods are high in carbs and low quality seed oils, that cause inflammation and gut leakage. We eat over 4x the amount of carbs ( sugars and starches) we ate just 30 years ago ( and a diet high in sugars and starches only makes you hungry and gain weight), there is high fructose corn sugar and dextrose/ maltose in many of our foods ( bad sugars that only our livers can metabolize that cause fatty liver disease and type 2 diabetes). We need to take back control of what, why and how we eat: two meals a day, and low glycemic meals ( keto and carnivore) and do not buy foods from the centre aisles of the grocery store ( over processed, nutrient poor, carb rich). Eggs are a low cost, high energy food, as are beans, if lectins in beans do not cause your system to react, and if so, refried beans may do the trick. Buy bulk legumes, rice, grains and other staples at your local Asian specialty store… do some research and take back control of what you eat… and realize that the health system has steered us in completely the wrong direction, telling us to avoid butter, eggs, dairy products, meats, and eat grains and carbs and seed oils instead… it is nice to blame industry for our poor health, and be victims, but, all the info is out there if you want to improve your health and well-being: as a start, research cause of type 2 diabetes, keto diet and carnivore diet. You will find that you are what you eat, and that you can find healthy, lower cost choices, that will improve health outcomes.

She had an extra chicken grown and raised by them that she wasn't going to eat, so she sent it home with me. When I brought it to my mothers, she wouldn't touch it. She said 'I won't eat anything if I don't know where it comes from'. It was pretty baffling to hear, considering I couldn't think of a single thing she could actually say for sure she knew where it had come from. She also wouldn't eat fish I caught out of a particular lake, because 40 years ago someone drowned in it. Completely irrational nonsense.
@the1necromancer5 ай бұрын
@@Bluepilled-c5t Absolutely. Larger groups are less cohesive. I don't care how much 28 different supermarket chains want to price gouge me to various extents - if 2 supermarket chains are competing against each other for my patronage by lowering their prices, then I'm shopping there. But Australia doesn't have 30 different supermarket chains, it has 5. And many of the minor retailers (small business, mom-and-pop shops) were put out of business by the government in 2020. Overreach like that scares new entrepreneurs who want to open their own stores. And the current financial situation scares existing chains who aren't price gouging as much or at all (IGA, Aldi, Costco) away from expanding.

Then you have to help carry countless bags into the house, and it felt like you would never run out of food, ever. These days, you hardly ever see someone fill their trolley/cart all the way, the self service checkouts cant handle that much shit, and cashiers will look as you as if you are queer if you walk up with a trolley/cart over half full. So everyone shows up simultaneously at 5pm everyday and each half-fills a small hand basket with a few items and returns again the next day.

And that's how I can with absolute certainty, say that it's not about the environment, it's solely about taxing people more, cuz they're greedy and/or want to f people over.. To add insult to injury, they stopped displaying the prices at the intercom where you make the order at the drive-thru. You don't realize how much they are stiffing you for until you get up to the pay window. Free markets I guess, people must be paying it. Cultural conditioning. A daily dose of Canadiana. Seeing families pick up meats and put them back down after looking at the price. Having orders (literally) lost in translation at all your local drive throughs. Being unable to walk through entire stretches of the city because of zombie hoards of crackheads. Even just the silly stuff like being unable to ever finish ordered drinks because your paper straw turns soggy beyond the point of no return 5 mins in to drinking. The other day I helped out an elderly woman who bought a few glass bottles of juice, both of which had slipped through the bottom of her 20c environmentally friendly paper bags (because ofc, they're shit) and smashed all over the pavement. She was so embarrassed and upset she just wanted to go back to her car with nothing. Not to mention the Gen Zs wandering aimlessly in their PJs all over the place speaking entirely in memes because the internet is the only place they can hope to ever own anything. Anyways, not a big fan of what Trudeau has done with the place. Not at all.
