I actually love this sound. Just pure rhythm. My neighbors are losers who freak out at the sound of a single kick hitting a practice pad that’s also muted with towels. I don’t even have a set, electronic or otherwise. I live in the city area of South Carolina, downtown. Like, this is not a country home, I hear your iron footed pacing upstairs 24/7 you can deal with a pitter patter. Feels good to get to say this around other drummers lol.

He was a good guitarist as well and liked metal, so if he was practicing or just listening to music it meant i didn't have to have my music on. Of course, had he been into rave or some other rubbish i'd have been right up there telling him to shut up lol Was nice to have that as background when i'm working and my own music would have been distracting, his was just at the right level. Went to edrums about 10 years ago but still they complain and now days because of my work i can get on my ekit 2-3 times a week and i'm grateful for that. Life is loud, if they want absolute silence 24/7 they're free to dig a hole to lie down in. Lots of things to consider since we've all been at the receiving end of un-neighbourly behavior. I believe eDrums can still get quieter. A better mesh head could solve a lot of issues. For serious drummers who live in apartment, the answer might be as simple as finding the appropriate practice space. In my own case, I've lived next door to children learning how to play violin. It sounds like somebody is killing a cat. To me that's the sweetest sound in the world, because every time you hear it, you know there is an eight year old child is learning to play the violin.

Years ago, I lived in a third-floor apartment in a shitty building with paper-thin walls and floors. I thought electric drums were the answer. After one hour of playing, the guy downstairs came upstairs and told us to stop, because the kick-drum foot on the floor was killing him. So I got a few old tires and put a plywood floor on top of them, and that solved the problem. But for the record, your neighbors below you will still hate your guts unless you do something about that kick drum foot.

I finally got my electric kit set up in my new place the other week. I asked my roommate if it was bothering her when she was in bed sick and she just said “no, it’s groovy.” I guess she’s still feeling the rhythm even if she can hear the actual drum sounds. I was playing just the other day though at what I thought was a pretty good volume when my headphones fell off and I realised just how loud it was and just hearing the sticks on the rubber, I just thought “holy shit, my neighbours must fucking hate me!”

I never had an electronic hit before (even though I want one eventually). But before I got my acoustic drum set I used to play Rock Band on PS3 when I was in college. And you could hear the whole thing the second you step in the building - even if it was all the way up on the second floor and down the hall of a very large building. "What is that clacking and rubber sound?? oh must be rock band night again!" Lol

@@MHeisler777 I would probably play it better since I play a lot of death metal with double bass, but I dont have to prove anything and its not my point by any means. It wasnt on time and had tempo issues and thats a fact, no matter if I can play better than this or not. Thats just objective. He did a decent job with those single stroke fills, but really struggled with double bass and timing. Again, Im not hating, everyone has stronger and weaker sides and that version of this song is strongly based on that pretty advanced double bass pattern which he struggled with. The most important part is to acknowledge mistakes and keep practicing and having fun
