Keep going! Great to have a hobby, but a bit isolating with only KZbin (I am discovering). One comment: a lot of people are doing what you are doing - channel about having a channel. I think that has limited "legs". It might be good to develop a direction/niche in some way. Monetization is harder than it seems: that "4000 watch hours" is a very steep hill to climb. The only way I got over it was a simple stroke of luck when one video went viral.

@@Moneyfromzero I spent a long time wanting to start a channel, but couldn't think of a theme. I had a few false starts trying to vlog about me, but couldn't find enough in my life that was interesting 😦! I see so many people now, over 40 who are starting new channels (like yourself) and the only theme is about your channel progress. I just feel you're going to hit a very frustrating brick wall, unless you start taking about something extra. Maybe find a hobby - or something you do or something that is happening around you - that the videos can be about. Just some thoughts.

I really appreciate your channel and your support. This is way harder than I imagined it would be. I guess our shared new hobby is a bit like golf for those of us who don’t golf?🤷🏻♂️ Here’s my suggestion, what about doing a quick Zoom interview with other small channels…Live. No editing required. You could double your content without doubling the work. Small channels who follow you could promote themselves a little. It might expand a sense of community? I don’t know. If it’s not totally crazy and you ever want to share ideas let me know. Regardless, keep doing what you’re doing!

Best wishes on your channel. I've always had a camera in my hands since early childhood (as an Aspergers Syndrome Autism level 1) as a means to deal with anxiety, so I started sharing what I see in our smoky mountains tourist town, and that helps me not feel bored or anxious in crowds and provides a service to our viewers, who can not be here all the time, even though we are not huge yet, we have had over a million views, so whatever you find is a good service to others, if it's enjoyable, or provides education, it can be a blessing, we are also Christians who lift up the Lord as well, if you decided to share fun things to do in your area, or little trips, that is enjoyable to a lot of people as well, I do that as like a sidekick channel, rather than normal travel / destination type vlogging where the creator wants to be the star of their channel, I do POV type vlogging with the camera facing the scene not on us, where the viewer feels like they are in our car with us or walking with us seeing the sights, have a blessed day 🙏🏼
