Nice job Ben! I started a few months ago, I have one video and I'm currently editing my second one. I'm starting from scratch (literally zero) so it's taking me longer. I work in Technology, I'll figure it out. I'm 47 years old 😂 so I'm way older than the average YTber. I'm also going for a cinematic look. I started with a GoPro and I bought a Lumix with fancier audio (shotgun mic and wireless lava). Keep it up man, I subbed and I can't wait to see your filmmaking videos, I'm super interested in that too.

i'm 50 an introvert. i just created 3 different youtube channels as not sure what will interest people. one is about decluttering and improving my messy room, another is called 50 year youtuber and my main one so far is just uploading videos of my cats. forgot, i also had some motivational videos with no audio - suprised i had 2 subscribers but i didn't continue with it. i will start on the decluttering one as my room is such a mess, and i will need to clean it up before i get a carpenter to make me made to measure wardrobes. i might not show my face in my videos yet. but i keep seeing videos like yours inspiring me to get to it

Yep absolutely. I usually have 3-4 different takes of my video. Then sticking with the last one sometimes I borrow from the previous takes just to make more sense of what I want to teach 😂. Don’t give up man it’s only a beginning

I’m in the ‘almost ready’ phase for a KZbin channel… been putting the finishing touches to the corner of the garage where my studio is - I’m an artist and will need a wee bit of space :) Got a light, my phone, ideas, Davinci Resolve which my computer can’t run but I don’t care. I recently reached 200 subs, after uplaoding videos for almost 8 years, and have asked myself multiple times if I should bother doing this. Don't get me wrong, subs are great and I want to share my stories to as many as possible, but I make videos mostly because I like to. I'm not especially good at it, but I want to improve myself, being infront of camera, behind camera, telling stories, editing and the list goes one, and the only way to improve is to try and fail, and then try again. BTW, congrats on 1000 subs 🙂

Hello! Thank you for putting this out there. I am also an introvert who has been wanting to start a YT channel, but I keep putting it off. Too many things keep stopping me, the internet can be a scary place, and my fear of failure is always there. But, I am trying to put myself in a certain mindset that I want to do it to overcome the fear, to be a better speaker, and to just do the things I want to do. I don't know what kind of content to suggest for you, I like watching people just live their life and share what they are doing, along with their successes and failures of their channel. So, I can only suggest for you to keep doing what you are doing!

Do away with procrastination immediately! I encourage you to make a start. Just start the KZbin channel. Do not fear anything! It will not be easy at first, especially when you post and get only 1 view in two weeks. But believe me, if you do not give up, in months, you will find yourself doing it with passion, no matter anything! Wish you good luck!

Hey Ben, I have to say our stories are fairly similar. I am extremely introverted and it was difficult for me starting my channel. But 2017 forced me to change my direction in life, I was involved in a motorcycle accident that left me with 3 compression fractures with bulging discs in the lumbar area of my back. Fast forward to the pandemic, I found a travel blog that changed my life and inspired me to pick up a camera. From here I worked on getting comfortable in front of a camera and eventually started a degree program for Digital Marketing. Long story short, I would love to connect sometime! As a Belgian with New Zealand on the bucket list, it would be interesting to have you as a sort of liaison to NZ, but without being a travel vlog. Just seeing you walking around your town, drinking coffee and telling about your latest news or tip, would be great. Perhaps I should go do the same thing haha.

I'm an introvert too and have been trying to start a faceless channel. Frankly, it feels more difficult than just talking to a camera. My problem is, I don't feel like I have an unfair advantage. I think I can talk about things like work and travel, but I'm not actively traveling. I have to do something, though, because I've just about had it with having a j-o-b.

Not a Kiwi viewer like you were hoping but a little further out (Sydney), but your video was sure to come up in my feed given I follow a lot of content advice videos on this account. When my partner and I started our channel (Rubberly), we started on a phone. We've got our first 1k subs today and we can safely say this whole KZbinr thing is a learning curve. Very solid advice you're giving, and think media who you've quoted have been absolute legends! We optimised, we took onboard their advise and we had our first decent video blowup last Christmas.
