Baccano and zaregoto seem to be the only light novels I actually enjoy reading usually I roll my eyes at most isekai or rom com light novels almost like a grade schooler wrote them. They just can’t compare to most actual well written books, but these two series some how have some insane writing style that almost makes it seem like a full novel.

Also the idea to show certain things out of order like the ending foreshadowing first is also present in baccano as well except you are unable to understand wtf does the symbolism mean until the end

I definitely need to get on the Baccano Light Novels then since I watched the anime and the special but that’s about it.

You should try 86, specifically reading it. The anime gives a lot of detail in adapting the first book but for some it might seem like it’s dragging out. The first volume is in my opinion a great package. Introduces you to the world really well, and some of the best action I’ve read. Simply a gritty war novel with none of the weird Rom com stuff.

@@brunosouzadeoliveira6114yeah i know, its been a few years so i forgot about it,and im at the circle of inevitability already, but i have to say the writing degraded strongly after klein got past sequence 4 and i think its due to the censorship wave after reverent insanity got banned as well

i REALLY want to read zaregoto but everything is so confusing i dont even know where to start. i mostly wanna start reading the series beacuse i looooooove take's art, but i also wanna learn more about the story could someone tell where i should start to read zaregoto (and maybe the order of volume i should read it in)

so you start with volume 1, then you read volume 2. following that i would recommend you to read volume 3

With volume 1! I know there are several versions available which might be the cause for confusion. I'd go with the Vertical version titled "Decapitation: Kubikiri Cycle - The Blue Savant and the Nonsense User" released in 2017 (The other version is "The Kubikiri Cycle by Del Rey" from 2008 which you can read if you want but I haven't). This is how I ended up experiencing the series and by no means is this the "right" order just my approach because I had never read a light novel prior to Zaregoto. I watched 1 episode of the OVA then read 1 chapter of Volume 1 for the entirety of the first volume. Now there are some caveats to this (like how Episode 3 kind of pulls from Chapter 4 material and Chapter 8 & 9 are merged into Episode 8), but you can read the LN straight up and ignore the OVA.

@@inspirashamul is it a good idea to Watch the anime than start reading vol 2. Did thé anime adapted everything from vol 1

@@dudi.x9659 My biggest issue with the OVA is that it really cuts out a lot of the inner monologue of the main character. So even if you watch the anime first, I'd still suggest reading Volume 1 (It does indeed adapt the entire volume) before going to Volume 2. But of course it's up to you to decide which option you want to start with.
