Love to watch a player of such extremely high quality, a number 1 repeatedly himself, just enjoying another player's ability and results. This is why I have a lot of faith in Jack's long term as I think he's just the most intelligent player I've seen one the pro circuit with a great attitude and when the time comes this will make him a great coach / content creator / org leader / motivational speaker.

For certain. I do sometimes worry that Jack's a bit invested in being respectful though, when he's definitely good enough to become World Champion in/for the next few seasons. Like yes, being egoic and foolhardy by blindly believing you're better than everyone else "just because" never ends well, but I feel Jack can lack that dog in him necessary to get into his opponent's headspace and show his dominance, because he always has his nice guy persona on display for the entire net to see. His playstyle has certainly catered more to that in the GenG days; he's more selfless, and less mechy. Which is great, I dig the pass-first team-play philosophy but this Vitality Championship-winning gameplan has highlighted a very important fact: there's a time for everything. Zen clips once in a blue moon but he does it when the time is right, and I just hope Jack doesn't settle for under-utilising his mechanical edge because it doesn't fit the idealised GenG gameplan. I still want some of the Jack from the Dig days that can absolutely style on people, but appropriate to the situation if the ball falls in his lap at the right time. If they can land FK in the offseason, GenG could come extremely close and possibly beyond a '22 Moist offensive style of 3-man chained aerial dribble plays- because him, Jack and Chronic all definitely have the mech to co-ordinate something like that. One can only imagine the creativity!

I never comment. In my opinion, this may be the greatest Rocket League video I've ever seen. Seriously. The biggest thing missing to elevate e-sports to the masses is a better understanding of the in-game skill and tactics involved, and Jack does a spectacular job explaining in detail how hard the game is and what mastery game looks like through this analysis of Zen. This is incredible stuff. Keep up the good work!

I love this kinda content. It is my experience that a RL player starts to open their eyes to how good people are only up to where they know to look, and most of us are nowhere near high GC or SSL, let alone the top of professional play. Everything you pointed out about zen's gameplay are things that as i heard i thought "hmm yeah that makes sense" as i realized just how ridiculously over my head 99.9% of this kind of gameplay flies. zen is adaptive at almost every mechanic. He knows when to apply a certain mechanic and at whatever angle the ball is or will be as well as the goal and his teammates. Mixed with his fast reaction and car control... dudes a monster!

I’m really excited as we get closer and closer to the skill ceiling of rocket league, greats from these eras will still be greats in new eras (just with less motor-skills and slower reaction times). But similar to live sports retired players can make relevant comments and have insight that even some players on the field don’t have. Players like Zen will be capable of understanding the nuisances of the game years from now, whether he’s still playing or not.

I think it's not glazing to say appjack is naturally the smartest (maybe debatable to some middle east pros but undefeated EU and NA 0 diff) but I think how some pros over extend because they're stupid but jack under extends because he's anxious and Zen just has a comfort and confidence in sacrifice that jack doesn't (in 3s specifically, I peaked gc1-c3 so I'm stupid obv but this is what the car body language feels like)

Personally i think its just mechanics, many players are probably capable of zen's gamesense,but to have so much attacking threat,basically able to create chances and goals from nothing,takes a level of mechanics no player has reached apart from zen

Zen may be current best, but he doesn't do face cam or a commentary. He puts gameplay with the worse music ever. Jack on the other hand does full blown commentary. Which is harder to do than you can possibly think. I do want to see zen whip out some commentary videos just because of the seasonings it adds to the steak. All that being said Jack's still my #1 and favorite.
