Thanks so much for posting this, a much simpler method than others have proposed! For anybody trying this out, a couple of tips: 1) forget about trying to save the screen. The glue strips are too bloody sticky! 2) buy the reseal sticker kit from ebay, they only cost $5 and fit to the phone perfectly 3) watch out for the little speaker connector on the right hand bottom side, including the little grey retainer, they are pretty loose. 5) be sure to set the aerial back in place, ensure the 3 little touch point connectors are touching their metal pads (you might need to give them a little stretch. Great video, but i have one problem. I replaced the screen successfully, in spite of that, the picrophone not work at all. So i thought that was my wrong that i broke the flex cable, so i replaced it but the microphone is still not working. Hopeless i began to look for the answer in many blogs, there were many people with the same problem but nobody knows what´s happening with the fu***ing microphone. I decided to look for here, help me if you know something about this. Thanks.

got the phone infront of small heater tryin to help it off. funny when i took off back cover 2 screws were just stuck to the seal not in there holes. less glue more screw It would seem is the answer .well battery out. pritty bad shape hope it still works. thanks for your guide

the whole screen is still functional and all, it's just that it's very ugly to look at with all the cracks that's why I want the screen replaced

charmae achumbre To replace just the digitizer is difficult. If you have never done it before I would buy the whole display like in this video. Here is a similar display and the steps to remove the digitzer and re adhere it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGSXiYF-mdOSiac In the description is the LOCA Glue.

Hi guys.i have question. I do Sony Xperia screen replacements. Mostly times it works all fine. But my problem is the screen is not sticks tight with the frame sometimes. The doubleside adhesive sticker is not strong enough no matter where I buy the sticker it's sometimes loosing it. I tried liguid glass glue a few time but it's to risky the glue get underneath of the lcd into the backlight and leaves spots. I remove the old sticker from the frame very good and clean it with alcohol. But still the glass /screen comes up in some areas. Please help

farvej mohammed The touch screen is usually attached to the glass and would be considered a glass only replacement...LCD is just the picture display. In most high end phones these two parts are glues together and are one piece. That is the case with this phone and I would suggest replacing both at the same time.

Hello guys I broke my display long time ago. I bought new phone after that but few days ago I saw few videos and I decided to fix the old one on my own. I bought Sony Xperia z screen with frame and today I started fixing it. I checked the new display. The display lights up an the screen is working but the touch screen it's not working. Consumers (and government) need to put more pressure on phone (and other) manufactures to develop phones (and other electronics) that have more easily replaceable parts. It's not in the interest of the industry to change as they just want to sell as many phones as possible. Throw away products when they have broken (or very expensive or difficult to fix) is bad for the consumer and the environment.

mmm ..... heating the battery not only doesn't help to soften the glue underneath it ( cause the battery is not very good temperature conductor ) but you are damaging your battery very seriously by doing that. .... NEVER heat your battery ...under any circumstances!
