I happened across Alex Muir's How A Car Works video course a couple days ago now and bought it almost immediately. It's a shame due to personal circumstances he wasn't able to complete the course (like many, I pray that he will find the motivation and time to do so one day as I have never come across anything so comprehensive and mesmerising - I've been binge watching his videos ever since I bought his course) but there is enough content there to keep you satiated for sure! There is so much potential (eg. to follow on and do "how an electric car works" by taking a Tesla or Hyundai Ioniq apart) that I really hope Alex finds some backers so that he can concentrate 100% on this project without having to worry about covering his everyday living expenses and/or business overheads and staff costs. He is a brilliant and very intelligent man with a natural flair for presenting. I wish him luck with any and every venture he embarks on. Alex, if you ever read this comment, may I ask if you've considered Crowdfunding? I am sure you'd raise a heck of a lot of money that way if you needed funds in order to finish the project?
@frank60484 ай бұрын
I also bought it recently and noticed there's not many news of the course nor alex, or none at all. What did you mean by "due to personal circumstances he wasn't able to complete the course"? what are those personal circumstances and how are you sure it's not gonna be completed. Before buying the site said that the course was expected to be completed by august 2024.

BEFORE YOU BUY: This project is pretty much abandoned. He just stopped making videos, no responses to anyone and he doesn‘t even acknowledge that it‘s abandoned. Yet they still advertise on their website that the course will be completed. He left everyone who paid for this in the dark, which is very shady. It‘s also very outdated, the whole thing seems to be made off an old book on how cars work. I have reported this to consumer services.

@@Sketchr_ it basically starts from Alex tearing down (disassembling) the Miata. Then, he explains the parts and systems in great detail. Unfortunately, I really rooted for the pdf to be their own diagrams regarding the Miata, but it is just photocopies of a book that explain how cars work, and its very wordy and seems a bit old if you might ask. You can adjust the playback speed of any KZbin video. Click the little 'gear' icon on the lower RH edge of the frame, then select 'playback speed' and jump through the hoops. You can also pause & restart play back by pressing the space bar. Once paused, the comma (,) key will go back one video frame at a time, and period (.) will go forward one at a time. Edit: Also, during playback, pressing the 'left' arrow key jumps back 5 seconds, and the 'right' goes forward 5.
