A very beautiful great song about true love. This song was a massive big top 10 hit in the United States and Puerto Rico and also a big top 10 hit in Canada and a very big top 40 hit in the United Kingdom and Europe, also it was a top 10 hit in many Asian countries and Latin American countries, it was a very big hit worldwide, Howard Jones is a great talent but I agree that this song and his music was always most successful in the United States that was his biggest market and where he had the majority of his fans was also in the United States, however he did have a lot of fans worldwide and his music is still very much respected worldwide in the music industry and by music fans in every country on earth, the United States gave him his largest fan base and made him the most money. Still if he were to do a concert in England or Europe I am sure he would be well received to this day. He is a real music artist that makes real music and he has great singing vocals, he and his music will always be respected everywhere.

Back in 2006 I was a young man living with a bunch of bros in a house. Most of their attention was was directed to partying and hooking up. Not gonna lie, part of that lifestyle appealed to me at the time. One evening I was at the grocery store buying drinks for another party, and this kinda cheesy 80s song comes on the radio. This song. I swear, it changed my whole attitude. I didn’t want to hook up, I wanted an everlasting love. A friend. A lover. And this song was so reassuring, too - telling me to wait for it. Give it some time. So I did, and I moved out of that house not long after. And it didn’t take long for that love to come along. Thank you, Howard.

Beautiful comment bro! Too many people think the "fun life" gives them happiness. But what really is fun is having a soul mate and learning to treat another person as perfect as possible. The traditional values do bring happiness. Partying, drugs and sex desensitize robbing us of our ability to be satisfied with the only things that really matter.

I was working at a furniture store (Levitz) about 11 years ago, there was a KFC next door that I used to get lunch at sometimes, met this pretty little blonde that worked there, she gave me her phone number and I called her a couple times, met another girl and me and her just kinda fizzled out, it wasn't much to begin with, but this song was playing inside the KFC when I met her, and I'll never ever forget her because of that, and when I hear this it always makes me smile and think of her, and I hope she found someone great and her life is full of happiness and joy, much love from sunny California

I absolutely love this song. Haven't heard it in years and it came on the radio the other day and sparked that younger drive in me again. This song is just out of this world amazing. I LOVE IT. Been singing in in my head for the past 2 days and downloaded it to my playlist on KZbin and moved it up to the top. A TRUE INSPIRATION in the meaning of the song and TOP NOTCH in sound, rhythm and pure mental happiness when hearing it.

I saw Howard w Culture Club and Berlin yesterday in Concord CA. I have never heard of this guy ( let alone any of his songs) as this song came out in 1989---i was in 4th grade. He also sang "Like to Get To Know You Well" and I liked it!!

I saw him in concert, last year, in the U.S. for the first time. He was in one of those 80's reunion tours with other British artists of the time. I mostly went to see Paul Young who is one of my all time fav artists. But his setlist was short & kinda uninspired. He almost seemed bored to be there. Howard, on the other hand, really stole the show and was very positive & energetic. Sounded just like he did in the 80's too (which is amazing).

He wasn't looking for a pretty face She wasn't searching for the latest style He didn't want someone who walked straight off the TV She needed someone with an interior smile She wasn't looking for a cuddle in the back seat He wasn't looking for a five minute thrill She wasn't thinking of tomorrow or of next week This vacancy he meant to permanently fill I need an everlasting love I need a friend and a lover divine An everlasting precious love Wait for it, wait for it, give it some time Back in the world of disposable emotion In the climate of temporary dreams He wasn't looking for a notch on his bedpost A love to push, pull and burst at the seams I need an everlasting love I need a friend and a lover divine An everlasting precious love Wait for it, wait for it, give it some time This is love worth waiting for Something special, something pure I need an everlasting love I need a friend and a lover divine An everlasting precious love Wait for it, wait for it, give it some time Wait for it, wait for it, give it some time I need an everlasting love I need a friend and a lover divine An everlasting precious love Wait for it, wait for it, give it some time Wait for it, wait for it, give it some time This is love worth waiting for Bitterness will die for sure Something special, something pure This is love worth waiting for This is love worth waiting for Bitterness will die for sure Something special, something pure This is love worth waiting for I need an everlasting love I need a friend and a lover divine An everlasting precious love Wait for it, wait for it, give it some time I need an everlasting love I need a friend and a lover divine An everlasting precious love Wait for it, wait for it, give it some time I need an everlasting love I need a friend and a lover divine An everlasting precious love Wait for it, wait for it, give it some time I need an everlasting love I need a friend and a lover divine An everlasting precious love (sorry i needed lyrics so i could sing along since there are no lyric vids on yt and u cant get out of the app and listen at the same time lol)

He took it to church!! I was meditating , feeling on a pretty high wavelength, and the memory of this song popped up in my head. I haven't heard the song in possibly over 15 years. How rare is it for a song to sound so good, have good lyrical content? A song that your children can sing? And ... it really could be sung in church!
