Nice coverage! The most entertaining bit to me was the part about the Jupiter 8. I saw Howard live in 1987 when I was 21. It was the first time I saw a computer monitor on stage. I think I am going to go see him when he comes to the US. I am fortunate he is making a stop in my metro area!

I saw a brand new Jupiter 8 in a music shop in 1982 and made it a life ambition to own one. They were £4500. I was 12. No car washing and grass cutting was going to cover that. Then there was this infamous synth on the cover of New Song. I wanted one even more. I watched the prices drop in the late 80s to £450 to 800 and thought... nows the time but i'm still a bit short. £450 bought a trashed, gigged to death one. I waited too long.... they started to rise with the advent of dance/trance/acid music and I missed my chance. Eventually I got a broken one in 1999. Spent many hours fixing it and it still have it today. I have a Fantom 7 that also has a JP8 inside and its astonishing how close it is.

Sounds like it's not completely live.

It wouldn't be - there's two keyboard players and they're trying to cover bass and various sounds between them. Looks like they've got the structure controlled via ableton and they play parts on top of the backing.

That makes sense. Thanks tomstickland!

Man, pretty complicated rig...so much put into making it sound like the records, it's ironic, because I like going to these shows to hear it a little different than record.
