Howard McGillin, Elizabeth Loyacano, Jeremy Stolle - Final Lair

I always felt like Howard Mcgillins Phantom was more authentic than John and Hugh's. Howard took over the role at an older age where I feel like he had more confidence in his voice, and its capabilities, to allow it to do things the other two weren't able to. Hugh Panaro's voice sounds too neat and cheerful to me, when I hear him sing, I see a handsome strapping wealthy fellow, like a Bruce Wayne type, not dark and menacing like the Phantom should sound. Howard allowed his voice to not always be polished in those moments he portrayed pain and anguish. He was also very different in the way he moved around on stage, he embodied the Phantom right down, literally to his fingertips. I admire him for not holding back and really diving into this role for so long. I gained a lot of respect for him after I met Howard personally, and he is very sweet and polite.....you just wouldnt expect he was capable of going out there and being so evil.

I saw this show with the same cast in 2007, and it makes me so happy to find this song here! It still makes me tear up after all these years. What a beautiful show. Howard McGillin is easily my favourite Phantom

Me, too! Howard was my first seeing-the-show-live Phantom and I'll always love him for that. He's one of the best to ever play the role.

Man, this brings me back. Howard was my first seeing-the-show-live Phantom, and I met him at the stage door and he was so kind, and so he'll always have a special spot in my heart. I really wish they would do a cast recording with him as the Phantom.

Howard McGillin is the best star on stage. Of course I know him as Derek in The Swan Princess and the singing voice of Gregory in the South Park movie. But he's amazing as the Phantom. The Phantom in the 2004 movie should have been him or Seth MacFarlane. Not Gerard Butler.
