Many thanks for the video, Jason! This clock has a strange mix of simplicity yet old fashioned fanciness in its design! The sound of the cabinet seems of great quality and I have NO idea how Howard Miller does it. I think even people who knock on HM for whatever reason would have to admit, you can't find a clock that sounds like a HM. I You described everything perfectly and if I'm ever in Texas I'll be stopping by! Hopefully soon enough I'll have enough money saved up to buy a clock like this, than it's down to the tough part of choosing! After seeing this video, this HM is very high on the list. The solid cherry Hermle's are nice too! Thanks again!

Ah, this clock looks like the one straight out of my childhood. While I love the clock, the ceiling fans in the store are cooler! 1970's Casablanca fans. Pretty desirable

I had a Howard Miller 610-853 it was recently burnt in a fire 😔and I can’t find it anywhere my grandma bought it I think it 2000 but I can’t seem to find the clock anywhere and I want the same clock again

No, shutting the chime off shuts all the quarters off. Some will still strike the hour gong, but none will allow you to only have music on the hoir and half hour.

Have this exact model. Love it! How do you make it play the tune or chimes but not the hour count? This thing has great sound!

Switch the hour strike switch to off (9:00 switch) and select the tune on the (3:00) side.

You can usually just move the hour hand to the correct position to match the number of strikes you hear.

The veneer is a disappointment. It's a couple thousand dollar product. A couple board feet of real wood is an immaterial cost. Our could be a huge factor in a future rehab.
