This clock is in the living room of a church rectory. I absolutely love how it sounds.

I love the way it looks, reminds me of some of the clocks at my grandparents’ house!

Yes, and it sounds nice, too, like a Hermle Grandmother Clock.

Thank you for the video of a beautiful wall clock made by Howard Miller. I have been looking to purchase but could not find a video detailing its sound to justify its high price but you have made my decision easy....

Frank M - Justifying the high price is the hardest part of these clocks. I think I’m gonna have to become a semi proficient clock works guy just to afford the maintenance on these clocks

I quarter chiming clocks. When the clock plays musical sequence on tuned set of chiming bars at every quarter hour and strike the number of hours as chord strokes following the fourth quarter sequence it is pleasant to hear as well as makes us to know the time without seeing the clock. Citizen, Seiko and Rhythm quartz clocks electronically imitates the same musical sequence on tuned set of chiming bars at the quarters and fourth quarter followed by hour strike on two or more chiming bars as chord strokes because they contain sound chips and speaker.

@@BK-sn3gk Yes, The electronic imitation of chiming rods on circuit board of sound chips connected to speaker in some quartz clocks of Citizen, Seiko and Rhythm can't beat the sound of real chiming rods.

It says in the instruction manual to always move the minute hand in a counterclockwise direction. I just purchased this clock at an auction, so I printed out the manual and it was pretty clear.

I find it better to turn it clockwise and let the chime play on each quarter. I had thought that moving it counterclockwise would not be good for the movement.
@ILoveSchnauzers10 ай бұрын
@@pjames8673 I do the same. Clockwise and allow it to play before moving forward again. Although I just had my Jennison cleaned and oiled, I have a clockmaker who comes to the house, and he did move the hour hand counter clockwise and said it was okay to do it, but I prefer not to. When we have to turn the clocks back an hour, I stop the clock, set a timer for one hour and then start it up again.

This almost sounds like a Vedette wall clock.

That’s a Howard Miller Jenison!
@martypa178311 ай бұрын
The clock needs to be stabilized by making certain that it's level, and then putting a screw through the center of the strike plate so that it doesn't swing when you open the door. And yes, it's the Jennison, and howard miller still sells this clock, the current price is $2299.

I bought a Clock similar like this over 30 years ago, it never ran right, always stopped running, bought a bubble level for inside it was spot on level. even took it to a clock shop back in the day and they said it was fine. brought it home and it stopped. been siting on the wall collecting dust. I'm sure by now any oil has hardened as you can't even manually strike a chime. Are there any real good videos for a do it yourself cleaning? and that may not even address the fact we had so much trouble with it in the first place. Any Thoughts?
