After the whole Artie vs The Hack Pack Saga. Artie talked about how the show and the desire for airtime can turn people into their worst versions of themselves and basically predicted what an asshole Jason Kaplin would turn into. Sal accuses Howard for enabling Artie to fight with staff and over his weight and Drug isses.

I thought I had heard or watched every Artie episode, but this was new to me. This was seriously upsetting to listen to. He obviously had just shot up, or sniffed his H since he claims he never shot, which i find hard to believe. But either way, thats clearly what his " losing time, and feeling out of it on the escalator was all about. He had just gotten high, and i found it really hard to listen to everyone joking about it. Either a room full of morons, or a room full of people thinking hes making us money lets laugh and pretend hes not high as a kite. Howard couldnt have been that stupid!!! Really sad imo, and as a former H addict it hits home!

@@TheDreamer1980 I know he says he never shot it, Im just saying as a former addict, I was scared of needles as most people are. Its very easy to say, and have people believe just because it takes it to another level of humility if you admit to shooting it. But as every H addict knows eventually sniffing it isnt enough and eventually you shoot. So I find him hard to believe that he didnt get to shooting, but who knows. But youre thoughts on how long he was on H, or opiates I believe is way off. You can pretty much clearly know if hes on coke or H by his weight. All his funniest imo years were Heroin. When he was gettingg close to 300 pounds and falling askleep at work. Those were heroin years. Tow3ards the end, and I only think it was the last year he was on the show, is when i believe he got back into. He became unfunny, lost a ton of weight, and got mean a lot of the time, and wouldnt shut up alot of time as well. When he said he was losing all the weight by jet skiing LOL.

Eh that’s one critique of Howard I disagree with. Enabling would mean assisting the addict with their habit. By giving them money or drugs or a place to stay while they’re using etc. Nobody forced Artie to use drugs and then tell the tales on the air. Nobody forced him to be open about his struggles. Sure maybe it could have been insisted since Howard loved talking about personal problems on air but overall nobody enabled him or encouraged him to do anything but get help and get better.

You have to care about a person to enable them. And in hindsight, none of em ever truly cared about Artie IMO. They just all knew he was great material for the show. What they are doing here is towing the "company" line with him. Artie didnt care if some backroom nobody like Jason or Sal brought up his addiction. He would've cared if any of the top guys did though which is why the Gary fights were always the most real. Once Gary started going into Artie's addictions, things turned real sour with their relationship. But Artie would've either fell in a much bigger depression or left the show altogether if it was someone whose opinion he cared about. And if you get rid of Artie at the height of his addiction, the show loses as many viewers in 2007 or 2008 as they did when he finally left at the end of 09. That would've looked a lot worse for Stern a year or two into his Sirius run

lol no he wasn't. His sister tried to get him to go, but he only relented and went to a wellness spa that he checked out of. He wanted to be fired so leaving the show wasn't his fault, and he could be bitter about it and not blame himself. You can't make someone go to rehab. They literally told him over and over again that he should go to rehab, and they would welcome him back.

That first story of Artie being late during a break and it’s because he was light headed and almost passed out? That is pure BS. When Artie (like most people) tell the truth they are a lot more to the point. When you’re lying you add in so many little extra details that really aren’t relevant to the story. Also… The reason why Artie had to go get his own lunch is because he can smoke on the way.
