A HUGE part of Howard’s magic was to find and abuse, on air, low to medium talent. Gary, Stut John, Jackie, Gange, Grillo, KC, Sal, Richard etc..the list goes on. He kept them there because they were great show filler. It got old after 20 years, but filling the void has proved unlistenable for most fans. @jeremiahjohnson1513 Жыл бұрын
I have to add a different perspective here. A lot of ex Stern employees rip Howard after being "fired" but what really jumps out at you when you look at the history of the show is just how stable Howard's employee base has been. The radio business is notoriously unstable and unpredictable, mass firings are common and few shows have employees that can say they were a part of a team for 20+ years. Howard has had a lot of them and most of the employees are not really Stern employees anyways, they are employed by Sirius or whatever radio station he works for. The management of those companies is always looking for way to cut costs and Howard has been known for going to bat for employees and keeping them with him when management was trying to cut them loose. You can't be on the air for 40 yrs. and not have some attrition, even with the star of the show trying to keep a team together long term there are times when certain employees are going to be let go, it's just a part of business, especially the radio business. Also, the only reason we know about employees being fired, or laid off, on Howard's show is because he weaves employees into the show itself so they become known to his audience. Most radio stations people get fired and the audience has no idea it even happened. So why are Stern show employees somehow exempt from the volatility of the radio business but not other radio shows employees?

That gangie guy was so annoying. I couldn't stand any of the howard TV guys. Remember how long it used to take them to get things done? After listening to this though, he's a great guy.

gange was lucky Howard gave him a life. He should be thankful his time on the show lasted as long as it did.

It’s pretty simple if you do not like Howard or the show you do not have to listen.

Robin make $10mil a year which is such BS! Howard says he doesn’t kno what anyone makes but we all know that’s BS.

I still love the Howard Stern show. People who get fired always blame everyone else but themselves. I'm sure there's 2 sides of the story . And he's only telling his side
