I wonder what makes it so hard for some to find that place of full surrender to the Lord.. I was raised in a Christian home like Micheal and sang and traveled with my family and sing for the Lord. even though I loved the Lord I had to come to the place where I knew that the Lord was, like Mark Lowery says,, so in love with us He just can't help it. After I realized that He thought my soul was worth the price He paid for me, we all are. I found my voice to speak the word that all need to hear and we are commanded to tell. I pray you all find that voice, because there is no way to express the feeling when you lead another to know the Lord Jesus Christ.. I hear the surrender in Michael's, songs..Please, don't ever stop telling your story, or singing your song of surrender.and salvation

Howard and Vestal Goodman wrote Give Up (And Let Jesus Take Over) on New Years Day of 1971. They came to visit our family in Manistee Michigan and they sang at the Nazarene Church there where Dad was pastor. Give Up was a special encouragement to Ivan Parker and me.

This is sooo good! I have been listening to Gaither for years, but tonight, for the first time, I discovered this one. This is Gaither Music at it`s best. (Hope yoy understand my not-native English, I am from the opposite side of the world :-) What I appreciate? 1) How old Howard takes the lead, like he did for fifty years. 2) How this peculiar singer Michael English accords with and supports him (and so does Vestal, of course) 3) Michael English presents himself, he is better than I thought, 4) The precision from the two old ones, , in rythm, in wording, in musicality, in the calibration with Michael, 5) the sudden appearance of the charming lady in black, Lillie Knaus, pushing the song forward and lifting it, like we were witnessing a service in a Harlem gospel church. I love this one!

Love the early Gaither videos when the singing was much more spontaneous and unscripted. And no one could just jump into a song without any warning like the Goodmans.

Mack Hampton I can assure you nothing happens on Gaither videos without Bill's endorsement. In Southern gospel music there is a saying that the best spontaneous moments are planned seven days in advance. The only video that I believe was truly spontaneous was the very first video called homecoming.
