Hmmm, tuner technician here, 30 years of it so far. Through the years I have done everything from tuning to total rebuilds. To moving to buying and reselling. I have never come close to 200k per year. Seems like quite a stretch, but being in the fingerlakes area, I guess that might be the difference. It has been a fun career, but all the driving takes a lot of time. I can drive 100 to 150 miles every day. I try to do 2-4 per day. Best of luck to you beginners .

Great book! Quick question regarding tuning pianos that are Way out of tune. What is the maximum step you could adjust the tune in 1 go without having the risk of snapping strings?

If the strings are in good condition, you won't typically have a risk of breaking the strings just from raising the pitch.
